Is this simply a texture renovation or what?

Looks like a completely new (and more detailed) heightmap and texture.

Looks like SM3 and looks nice

Some things to keep in mind:

please keep the size on 8x8
remove the extraspeed for units which the current MH got.

Also zwzsg made some metal map a while ago which has some 3do metal feature's which might fit on the new MH: http://spring.unknown-files.net/file/16 ... ciousness/

The whole thign is unsightly. Metal maps have been smooth shiny and sleek, and your original SM3 shiyn emtalheck was a vast improvement other previous versions.

But you've changed the texture and it looks deformed and wierd. The ground looks more plastic like than shiyn emtalic, it looks like your heightmaps all wierd and gone awry where the flat ground meets the raised parts, and the pockmarks look strange and odd, uncomfortable to look at.

removing the dimple pockmarky things would improve this vastly, make the ground smoother and flatter.

Excellent, IMO. It actually looks like layers of metal panels that have been walked on, shot at, and otherwise weathered.

Metal planets are not meant to look like that. They are supposed to be smoothed over places with panels everywhere. The water is dark green/black and no atmosphere.

Maybe it'd be fitting if it dropped off onto a rocky lava planet with lots of asteroid impacts and sulphur pools.........

core would probably repair it. Odds are considering CORE mentality it would have some sort of auto-repair.

Yah, considering that underneath this metalic flooring would be vast sensitive computer networks among other things.

that would require a lot of models etc. I don't want to begining thinking about that....

to do it right would require a rendered movie.

Well it could be section of an abandoned Core planet where the power was destroyed a long time ago, hence the rust etc.

Well the whole idea here is to suggest stuff and get people talking so I can glean good advice, and hopefully generate ideas.

I'll have a new render tonight hopefully. My life is going nuts right now so we'll see.

Just post ideas suggestions and what you really do think core prime would be like and why you think so.

The above render was not meant to be particularly great (there are a few things I like about it, but not too many).

As I said, I'm using all of you for a suggestion/idea generator, so keep it coming!

HEHEHE, I used all of you! Do you feel dirty?

As far as suggestions... if you are going to add noise to the heightfield, I think it would be better if you used sqaures to better imitate the paneling of the planet. also, could you reduce the saturation a tad. The bright colors are a bit distracting, if it was more grey it would help it not feel so visually busy.

EE is not designed for metal maps, you are ruining the mod.
