A completely useless and totally non-implentable idea...

Post by Felix the Cat »

People have asked if it is possible to have spherical maps in Spring.

Here with the assistance of Scotland I present Spring: 3D 3D, also known as "Theoretically Topographically Identical to Spherical, but Uglier, Spring":

Listen, just because you're on something doesn't mean I am!

Now, for a little serious twist... why is this useless thread in the Development forum? Shouldn't we have it moved to Off-Topic?

I guess that's because it's sponsored by Scotland

Your picture is rife with logical and theoretical hole that will make it impossible to implement.

Like... how did the scottish get a death beam?

Spring maps on the inside of a spinning cylinder in space! Weird enough to be cool.

Go play homeworld or so.
(this is ever more silly then that old idea about having spring in 2 levels, some sort of FF in the sky and AA on the ground)

hey... that was a good idea... almost as good as the MMO one where there was a map made out of little maps and you could move a certain amount of forces into contested areas...

this was done in a game called Metal Fatigue (or something like that...)

it had the air, where there were asteroids... mostly for jumpjet bots and planes, good for building solars for energy

it had ground, which could have everything (all bots, all vehicles, and all planes)

it had subterrain, which could only have vehicles because the tunnels were shallow

BTW in this game, a bot was better than 10 tanks, and needed at least 2 different constructions, but needed 4 to be the most effecient (Torso and Leg weapons were rather weak and slowed it down - Arm weapons were better)

although... why is scotland so far from england?

Too bad metal fatigue sucked royal ass. I was super excited for that to come out, but it was such a disapointment when it did.
