Mine started with whooping cough as well - noone noticed it was whooping cough for like 3 months because having the vaccination eliminates the characteristic 'whoop' noise or something. But I spent all winter with that followed by colds which then all lead into a chest infection, and I came out the other side with asthma...yayNemo wrote:I do, but its extremely mild - I'm still able to be a captain of cross country running, do 50k ski marathons, and complete century (100 mile) bike rides.
It does give me a pretty annoying susceptibility to lung illness though - I've had pneumonia three times, and I'm just getting over whooping cough right now. And the medical types tell me that the whooping cough may have reversed the "growing out of it" trend I'd been enjoying.
Once every two years or so though, I get *really* sick with an asthma attack, and get to the point where I stop for breath walking up a single flight of stairs.
