New here

Post by Great R »

So, hum ... Hello everybody, I'm new here (noooooooo ?!)
First I'm sorry for the mistakes I could (an certainly will) make by posting here, now and later, ... english isn't my cup of tea.

I'm studiing 3d animation and I want to help for the creating of spring units in a "high poly" version of the original TA.

I saw that there is a new file type ( s3o ?) for the spring units, and I alreday have the exporter for 3ds max 7, but where can I find one for the "old" 3do files? (I will use them for models)

The 3DO exporter plugin is only for old versions of 3ds max:
http://www.clan-sy.com/download/3ds_3do/

If you want to do 3DO models you can export seperate objects with the 3DS format and import them into Upspring:

However I would recommend making new cool properly UV-mapped textured models with the new format!

...assuming you can get it to work. I still can't make the exporter work unless my model has only 1 object.

He wants the old models for referance, not to compile to 3DO.

Great R, its nice to have people around who want to do work! the problem is that we kindof had the new model format dumped into our laps with no documentation, so we're all kindof trying to figure it out still.

Zaphod, does the new model format use bones for animation? Maby that's the source of cadyr's probem of being unable to compile with more then one peice...

No, it doesn't have skeletal animation support.
