Spring crashes when particles/projectiles are created[fix'd]

Post by drbonebreaker »

Basically, when I start spring everything loads correctly, the game will start, i can move and draw on the map. However, the second I order a building to be placed or for a weapon to fire, the game crashes.

I have tried different games and maps, and have reinstalled spring several times, the most recent one involving cleaning every last trace of spring from the computer including appdata, registry data, tempfiles etc.

Infolog.txt indicates that this is a driver problem however older versions of spring have run fine on this computer and, to my knowledge, I have the latest video card driver (8.477.0.0). I am using a Mobility HD Radeon 3470. Laptop model is Toshiba satelite pro a300, specifically PSAGDA-01R014

Can anyone help?

[e: Accidentally fixed by disabling and re-enabling card]

[f=0000000] SDL: 1.2.10
[f=0000000] GL: 2.1.7415 Release
[f=0000000] GL: ATI Technologies Inc.
[f=0000000] GL: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
[f=0000000] GLSL: 1.20
[f=0000000] GLEW: 1.5.4

This stack trace indicates a problem with your graphic card driver. Please try upgrading or downgrading it. Specifically recommended is the latest driver, and one that is as old as your graphic card. Make sure to use a driver removal utility, before installing other drivers.

Unfortunately, the drivers I am currently using are the only ones available from my laptops manufacturer, and all I could find on ATI's download page for my video card was software which cannot appear to run, saying to contact the manufacturer for driver upgrades.
