Make some maps of the previous centuries wars and have competitions on them? Operation overload, tet offensive, operation dessert storm etcetera.

Builder/specialty unit alterable terrain

I want to build real physical walls, and then mount cannons on them, I want to dig a moat around my base and fill it with warlords; and I want to do it with a command function/build option instead of going bezerk with a mine layer and comming back ~15 minutes later and detonating all of them.

Dynamic lighting. That and UV mappable meshes are the two last big things preventing spring from looking like a totally professional engine.

Well, TA isn't the best game platform for realistic war, even if you change the models. In TA, there's no concern for collateral damage, resources can be built on-site, there's no morale worries, and you can't recruit troops (or police/insurgents) from the civilian populace.

Have you seen TA's angular, component-animated models? It'd be like having a nude scene in Virtua Fighter 1. We're talking "Custer's Revenge" level ugliness here.

Although you could do boobies on the landscape. I think there was a Terry Gilliam cartoon segment in The Meaning of Life like that.

Apparently in one of the coming builds we're going to be able to use Tri based models and UVmapping. You still don't want to let the polies get through the roof, but much more natural looking models will be possible.

Now that was just disturbing.

But something that would be nice in TA would be a day/night cycle. And if it actually impacted gameplay, then all the better!

Normal tri based models? Will any existing opensource model formats work? MD3 would be awesome in a wierd sort of way for TA - they already follow the lower-upper layout of most K-bots (though they'd look funny walking in reverse).

I think whaty this game needs is a really good AI and some Single player missions like on the Original TA.

So? I just want to blow someone up on a historic battlefield.

Day/night is and environmental effects would really bring the game to life.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and also the ability to rotate the OTA camera along the LEFT-RIGHT horizontal plane. The rotatable OTA camera just has too many problems.

An AI and the newGui and Spring is perfect for me :)

After that, I would like to have mods with more than two races (TLL !).
But it's more a modder thing.

I think The Brawlers,The peewees, and The flashes need to Fire there bullets faster because the way they fire in spring compared to the original Ta is slower

Wouldent it be nice if they fired bullets, with shell casings, tracers and little puffs of dirt when they hit the ground and all! That would be way better then what it is now... firing smallish circle like projectiles that look really lame. Also can we mesh in some sprite based explosions along with the ones now? It might look wrose, but theres a chance it will add some extra ompa to the explosions. And make missles smoke trails NOT leave shadows. IT looks bad, and runs worse.

Oh and make nukes have mushroom clouds.

What spring really needs is a dozen programmers to implement everything.

We should put some pulcity on this game around the web or something.
There must be hundreds of Ta Fans still out there and i bet most of them never heard of this game.

If we put pulicity up maybe we can attract more programers Model mackers and speed up the production of this game.

There is no need to hide this from atari They can take There Rights and shove them up there ass for all i care We made this game we put all the work into it Its ours!

Its just a thourght anyways but shouldnt we do something to get this game goin a bit faster?
