Balance: bertha/intimidator

Post by Jools »

Does someone other than me think that the bertha should maybe be a bit more accurate? At now it seems quite inaccurate, and it seems to me it isn't that much used anymore. People go for nuke instead (or vulcan).

Try it with 3+ of them or 3 targetting facilities

Targetting facility only aids radar targetting, doesn't affect when you attack ground -- or am I wrong?

Maybe the nuke should be inaccurate as well? I mean, the bertha can hit very wrong, as much as 25% as it feels.

LRPC is of fairly limited use but it can be very effective.

Getting one up can win a pretty stalemated 1v1 on aquatic divide for example, or a few of them on penis mountain can seriously hamper efforts to take the mid of the map on tabula.

They do suck for precision strikes, but for saturation fire (say, at somebody's wind farm) from behind porc or the top of a hill, they still work.

They are crap vs ships, and that's something I wouldn't mind seeing change.

LRPC aren't very good, however, for the same price in a warlord for 3 long range plasma cannons, you can take out a warlord pintle, they already do double or 50 percent damage (can't remember) to ships anyway. IF you are fighting executioners and the arm variant, counter it with guardians, guardians usually win because of accuracy and and faster fire rate, plus more range.

Tbfh if you are building static dfenz vs ships, BLOD is the way to go imo, in particular the anni.

You don't want too effective LRPCs, or you end up having games like BA, where the team who rushes enough LRPC or Nuke wins and no amount of actual combat skill or micro ability makes a different. On the other hand, games that size would take almost all the XTA regulars, so you wouldn't need to worry too much.

True, but now people rush the vulcan instead of the bertha, which is more of a game decider.

I don't know BA games well, but I would have though that powerful LRPC:s make the other team behave more offensively to stop it.
