Flagging an obsolete unit as fit for reclaim?

Once I start building fusion plants, I like to reclaim my basic solars. I get all the metal back, and when it's put into the fusion plant it's a more efficient use of energy.

What if there was a switch (or a key stroke) that I could tell the interface which would tag a selected unit as "should be scrapped" - it would continue to operate as normal, however friendly nano turrets and patrolling freakers would treat it just like a piece of wreckage and reclaim it for me.


Is this possible in the engine? Does it require a massive amount of LUA?

sounds nice feature.. cause atm i just selfd old junk and hope it wont kill my nanofarm :roll:

It wouldn't be possible as the patrol command is all managed via the engine, there'd probably be a hacky way to do it in Lua but the added hacks would outweigh the benefit of the command I think.

I need to file a Mantis ticket for "Patrolling nano-turrets repair units being reclaimed" too. That's clearly a bug, since if you or a friendly team are reclaiming something I'm fairly sure you want to reclaim it not waste build time repairing it. Also, something similar for units being resurrected getting reclaimed by patrolling units.

Edited to add: Ticket filed http://springrts.com/mantis/view.php?id=1387 Hopefully this will be an easy change that will make it in the imminent new Spring version.
