Do you need root to install the slakware version?

I don't want to use root to install the spring engine :| . Is there any way around using root? :?:

note: I'm not sure to put this in help or linux; I put it in linux because it's about linux.

If you compile spring, you can just run it from there without installing. If you have a package, you just need to extract the files and I think it will work. You'll want a .springrc file to tell it where the base folder is, or there is an env variable you can set.

Yeah if your using slack and only just found wine too you must be pretty new. Ubuntu is probably better suited.
