Model Competition 0003 - Vehicle (tracked, wheeled, hover)

<shrugs> I wanted to add some color to a basically monotone model, and it's a Knight, so having the color there made sense.
Making the shield thicker would also suggest that it weighed too much to be useful, imo... at any rate, it's a little late for critique of the geometry anyhow, and I really don't have time to work on the skin any more- I've got family stuff I need to attend soon.
At any rate, here's a shot of it in the engine- needless to say, it was a breeze to put into the mod... the brown thing next to it is a Holder, for size reference, and yeah, the Knight has been this small for quite awhile... I think it came out really well- it has a lot more character and is less weird than the original- I'll miss the weird, but I won't miss the 1000+ tris of rotating treads... that was a kewl technical stunt, but I really should come back and do it again for something much more deserving... maybe a Square with treads? Dunno right now.

I been questioning whether to sign up and enter this or not, but what the hell, it's worth it I guess.
It is untextured, but I like adding vector colors to models to make them less dull. It's 970 tris, just so it's known.
I call it the Vermillion Burner, (smaller and more developed fighter than the yet-designed Vermillion Aleste) and consider it a hover/flying unit. not much else to say about it since there isn't much else except the pilot is bit too cool-headed for her own good. OBJ like the rules say.

I can UV, I can't texture worth a crap though.Geona: hey, when it no longer looks like a DOGA model, that will be fairly cuteLet us see some WIP as you get it uv'd and skin it.
And I'd prefer not to be patronized by having it called a DOGA model. I did the whole thing scratch, aside from referencing R-Type crafts for cockpit design. DOGA is a program for n00bs.
The craft can hover, and aside from that, true-flight units don't work very well in strategy games from my point of view.
I would have brought out one of my land vehicles, or even one of my mecha, but unfortunately none of them fit the poly rule, (my quadruped tank is double, and my "Baronell" is 3 times the ammount.)

Er, well... you did submit it in DOGA-like colors. And it looks very R-Type / Anime, which I associate with DOGA. Wasn't trying to imply you're a noob, just that that is what immediately came to mind. If you'd prefer a more formal critique, I'd be happy to give that to you- I was just goofing off, honestly.
