Think how much the skin matters. The tank we're all reasonably happy with started out (and is) basically nothing more than a shoebox with some greebles attached. At any rate, it's a Rook, and how it looks will make sense in the final version of that "experiment" that went amok and decided to become a full game. Or it won't. I'm not going to even pretend I care how anybody else thinks about the art and design for that one- I'm not building it to be popular.
I agree that textures really can make the model. And yes, the tank is nothing but a beat-up box with some guns. But that new thing... Its a cone. It looks like it should topple over at the slightest push. And if that gun has any recoil, then it would do exactly that. Ill wait for the final shot to make my final verdict, but come on... Its a cone.

The Rook hovers, slightly off the ground, on flames using S3O bits with glowmaps, which should be kewl-looking. I may even make it appear to "recover" from its slight "recoil"- that's trivial.

Sorry for not having checked this thread for a long while. Arghs tank look nice although it isnt exactly what Yeha and was thinking about when we first discussed this. We where thinking more of a heavy tank with a goliath like gun on top (360 firing arc) and then some smaller guns with limited firing arcs maybe with a concentration toward the front (so that it could have both flamethrowers and lasers etc firing forward).
I guess Yeha didnt communicate this that clearly though so if you dont want to redo the tank we can probably use the current model although im not sure what one would assign for weapons to it to look good.

Next time you guys want something, specify it in much greater detail- I put a loooot of work into that, and none of you bothered giving me feedback during the whole ... almost month... this was in-process

See suggested uses, above- I think it'd be a cute plasma-proof flame-tank, but ... whatever. I'll put up a link to the geometry and skin when I get home tonight, so that somebody will use it- I'm not going to use it for NanoBlobs.
