XTA mixes a bit of RPS with OTA, bigger resources are likely to lead to a win, but so are micro, correct unit mixing, strategically placed defenses etc.
1v1 on sd :-) thats fun with xta

u didnt understand what i was trying to say...

when u play long battles with ARM and the unitlimit hits u THE CORE HAS WON... and if core uses krogoths as defence there is NO way to destroy them... krogoths are an easy kill when they attack believe me i have long lasting game replay on that and i respawned all krogoths he used... but still he build em so he has more...

Still, many level 2 units where renderd useless using this since they blant out SUCKED in comparision to level 1 units. Not all, but many. Many units sucked since they just where blantly unblanced

Sure, some units where ofen pretty usefull for special attacks, but ofen the best way to win was to outproduce the enemy with level 1 units. And yes, i have played OTA. I played it for sevral months, never online, but LAN agsint a freind ( witch i killed with svarms of Tanks while he tryed to use level 2 units).

About RL. In RL you can't win a war with infatry only. Ofen, you will get owend bye the enemys mixed army of tanks and planes. Infatry will be defeated bye a mixed army despite their greater numbears. And a big tank army that costed alot will deafet the infatry army in any senario, even if they outnumbear the tanks. (In not they are HEAVLY outnumberd in urban combat or something smilar)

In case of krogoth, it's one of the examples that backfired. Srsrly, pepole LAMO'ed when someone came to a forum and said "my freind is building krogoths and killing me, how do i stop it?"


I still say that i want Mod where level 1 units are usefull, but inferior to level 2. I don't want the first tank avibole to pwn the mightyes of em and kill me just becuase he spent all game building em. I don't want the first tank to not be able to do any damage at all. I want so that level 1 units are USEFULL, but not NESSESARY. Just like you want level 2 units to be.

Well in OTA, it was MUCH easier to kill a krogoth. Hell it only had 30k life (unless it was vet, then u can clone krogs hahaha). Vulcans and Annilhilators would literally eat up a krogoth force before it even came near your front line. A huge force of units can also counter a krogoth (large groups of mavs did really well with this). Also, it took a long time to pump out a krogoth. However, if you had a kicking economy, you could pump out a krog every 2 mins even in OTA.

But now to XTA... The krogoth seems to build a lot faster to me. Definately with farks and necros getting a HUGE nanobuilding boost and the fusion moho reworks. That, and the krogoth has over 100k life and got a power boost as well (his plasma cannons.) Annihilators CAN and DOES help against a krogoth attack, but once you get a swarm of them, it makes you wish you had the OTA vulcan. You can throw your entire army at maybe 1-2 krogoth and you might win, but its a long shot. It is really hard when playing team games where 1 guy goes fast krogs and the others just expand and protect. Soon as there is a krogoth loose, it is very hard to go on the offensive when you know they are coming to your base. You can do a team effort to try to kill the gantry and take out the res, but you still have the krogoth to worry about. Brawlers on a krog does help, but in OTA, air was very good against a krogoth (massive hawks ftw) :D

I just want something for arm to use against the krog. But a counter unit doesn't have to be used. Maybe just another adv kbot that can kill 1 krog if you have 20 of them and they can also be used for other things too. The mine is a good idea or perhaps making the Arm EMP para the krogoth with 1 missle.

In my opinion EMP paralyzing kroggies is too universally useful. It doesn't take much to build an EMP launcher or two, but they can paralize a krogoth from anywhere on the map. With the mines a krogoth won't get paralized if he says around his defences or doesn't move, and a smart player could mine clear with piros or L1's depending on how loose the arm players have defended the locations they have mined. Unless we outright remove the thing, the goal isn't to make krogoth useless, it's to make them counterable.

I play many games with the krogoth just blocked, and they acctually play pretty well.

We do not want Krogoths to be as worthless as they were in OTA. It was universally agreed that they were a waste of resources that could be better spent in a slasher swarm.
