Ba works best on 8v8 dsd cause most of the time you get to use most of the arsenal as oppose to smaller games that usually end with t1

Depends on the map, the balancing of the players, and the players themselves.

Thank you.

Btw, fi hosts also need to use the soft ranklimit instead of hard.

Yes, everything in the world is relative, thank you.

The irony was, that authost was called for, because once upon a time, there were only speedmetall games open. Now a actuall map is played (and a good one) and still- why dont you PM Licho, so he adds a "authost cant repeat same map for three times, and autoloads another Map" feature?

Late at night, when nobody is watching you, you smurf, you open a dsd-game, you play it, you enjoy it, althoug you are revolted and disgusted by yourself, so you deny it, because this map is not our heroe, not our saviour, but a lonely dark knight, keeping watch.

Why not slightly, and most important, not visibile on the minipa, alter dsd, and take the dsd-onlys for a slide outside the ride?

I want to second pretty much everything that
Pxtl http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... 42#p445442
Jazcash http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... 47#p445447 ("Meatshield" - guess where my Meatme-nick is coming from :)
and SirArtturi http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... 39#p445639
said. I think they said most of what i have to say. I am not happy with a only DSD-BA Spring, neither do i see a need to ban it in any way.

Please keep in mind that i am NOT the owner of any of that autohosts neither do i have shell access and even if i would have shell access, i would not use it against the host owners intentions.

I am certain that no rule ever to make could change this phenomenon (8on8 BA DSD that is). Its up to the ppl to have the energy to get other ppl play something else.
Trading time to implemention for efficiency the imho best way that i came up so far is:
Make a role "MapMaster" for all autohosts. Everyone who is disliking or hating DSD (i talking about the old, established players here in the forum f.E.) will get membership in that role.
But there are ppl loving DSD. Thats why there will still be some DSDHosts.

And i do like klapmongools "I suggest we compete with these hosts" and following points as well as his idea for luring ppl: http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... 68#p446068 . Thats the real anarchist soul at work! :) Sadly [TERA]Autohost is competing with [TERA]DSDHost(2) but it is losing.

And i am pretty sure that most of you do not know about the background of the DSDHosts. They got online after the normal autohost got flooded with DSD. They where born in the spirit of keeping the normal autohost DSD free. So one can tell any guy voting for DSD to go the the dedicated host and have the real games on the real host with real maps. You see how well it did work :/

Back when i started to play spring online on public servers, the cancer was speed metal. The arguments where just alike and everyone knew that it would kill spring. I wonder how much lives this spring has but i am getting confident that its enough.

And the best thing of 8on8 DSD:

:o :regret: --- :?
  --- :P

We can all play together :)

Of course, left team has 2 comm-droppers while right only has one.

I don't see DSDhosts as any problem. Lobbies need a "please join this battle and unspec as soon as possible" feature though because they are full all the time :)

I know SpringDownloader can do the above, but it is too heavyweight for me.

hi
im LOeT[Paste]

iam bot owner [TERA]DSDHost2
and i set it up in a time where the original tera hosts where down for some reason (the owner is loet lampe)
we dont have really contact to him and so i decided to bring another dsdhost online for moar fun
in future (about 1-2 weeks) i will move the autohost bot to a better dedicated server because some lags i got with the actual hoster.

in this run i will add 1-2 more autohosts for another maps - so it will be a no-dsd host and of course foloms damn only or something .. of course someone start a vote :)
im sure the next hardware will be very fine and the server will rock more than yet.
i come not often to this forum so if someone needs to talk to me im @icq: 92502231
thanks!

Well could we have one that rotates folsom, tabula, nuclear_winter and altored? They're the decent big BA game maps (ssb also arguably)

YEAH! non-DSD host! that means.. all maps except DSD, right? :D
that for once is a cool idea (if there are DSD hosts too).
btw, spring-dedicated should use really, really little system resources (CPU & Ram). lag will most likely only occur due to network limitations.
