Strategy = Telling your soldiers which island to capture.
Tactics = Which type of grenade and which type of ammunition those soldiers will use.
There really is a difference.
Personally I don't think SC is entirely tactics, but it's a lot more of it than many other RTS'

I play some Starcraft on Garena, mostly with some non-spring friends but also with panzertax (Comp1337).
But i would love to find more games, and if some of them will be with Spring players, all the more fun.
I played against DayWalker and failed miserably, but thats life.
A Clan would be cool i supose, mostly since it would allow more games to be played. But also cause it would good for Spring if other rts-players saw the "Spring" clan doing some good playing.
What would the clan be named? "Spring Clans Collective" [SCC] ? or "Spring StarCraft Collective" [SSCC] / "StarCraft Spring Collective" [SCSC]? or whatever.
Btw, my Garena acc is probably "Necromundi" but i still use Soul ingame... most of the time.

Re: spring starcraft clan
Well if anyone is interested in getting a gang of spring peeps playing than post here a step by step tutorial how to download starcraft and what to do to join some nice private server and play.
Re: spring starcraft clan
There are torrentz out there to be found, but the game is so good and quite cheap too these days so buying it won't cost you more then your saturday candy.
Im not sure what about private servers, but Garena is fairly easy to download and use.
http://www.garena.com/
Once downloaded just install it, and once you have regged an acc, you can login. Pick any server you want, you can still play with ppl on other servers. (Atleast i think you can... correct me if i'm wrong)
Once Garena is running, go into settings, and input the gamepath to your game.
once this is done, scroll down on the left bar, listing various games, untill you come to Starcraft, click it and you will get a list of channels/chatrooms, join a chat room and from there you can press "start game", and you will be able to host or join any games that are active by any other in the specific channel/chatroom that you are in.
Make sure you use the UDP option ingame, since its there the games will be shown.
I'm usualy in the European public room 2. And i have seen Sleksa there and i know that DayWalker was there aswell since i played him awhile ago.
Im not sure about hamachi, i have tried it but without success.
If anyone does know how to get it working i would like to know how.
I am willing to use alternative servers and/or applications too, if thats what works best for everyone else.

ICCup would work.Day wrote:http://www.iccup.com/
Although i sometimes disagree with some of their rules.
The bad note is that we won't be able to advertise Spring, nor have any forum fun.2. Forbidden:
- Any advertising and announcements, which are unconnected with iccup.com.
- Any insults of players and clans
- Spam and Flaming ("gl", "hi" etc)
- Bumping your own topic
The good note is that you will get to play some StarCraft games.
Re: spring starcraft clan
In SC every unit is an ender unit, except perhaps a zerg larva.yuritch wrote:1-2 'full control groups' (12 units) of either Terran Battlecruiser or Protoss Carrier tend to end games pretty quick (at least the AI rarely can counter that). It's not the single unit that matters, but a group of them.Spawn_Retard wrote:its different in that there are basically no ender units, other than spamming nuke ect.
There was no real need for a krogg in SC since SC games generally never come to that stage where such a unit is needed.
Btw, I want Blizzard to implement the "lift off" ability for bunkers in SC2
