IMO, lego spring should be TA, in lego form... ^_^

Indeed. If there is any world upon which an RTS derivative could immensely benefit from the mass carnage style of TA, its is Lego. But with more superweapons than TA, cause everyone knows that they built lots of superweapons for their lego armies. And everyone knows that they want to see hundreds of lego creations exploding into thousands of flying lego bricks, in many creative ways.

Yep, thats pretty much the idea.

After being presented with the challenge of balancing a mod, i really think my respect for modders needs expressing. Its a very difficult task. They might fuck up the unit balance in your favourite mod, but give 'em a break everyone once in a while :P

Are the gaps in the fins done with transparency?

Could save yourself some polies (admittedly not many, about 16) with no visual difference.

exactly, i considered it to not be worth the trouble.

*edit* and for the record the difference is 8 polygons

the reason the barrel texture is essentially flat is because it will have extremely high reflectivity (look at my AK for how reflective) if people are playing without reflections, lol tough.
lol tough? ;)

Anyway, no matter.

and it'd be 16 tris, because you'd be able to merge the two existing rectangles into one =P

yes. lol tough.

and maths + hangover = fail.

*edit* wait. teh fins pass through the body of the missile . so each fin pair is a single rectangle (2 sided, so 4 tris per rear fin pair). so by eliminating 8 tris i can cut the polycount by 16? explain.

**edit2** added explanation image

What Warlord Zsinj says is correct. Using transparency is standard procedure for details such as this.

Ah, I didn't realise the fins went through the model - in which case your calculations are correct.

It would result in a better visual effect if you did not do that, as over 50% of the fin is being hidden within the model. By having four fins repeated around the model, you are able to get far higher resolution on the fins, while only gaining a total of 8 polies (if you use transparency).

Of course, it's much over muchness, given that these missiles are unlikely to be seen in any quantities to be of concern, and that they will move too quick to really need to be much more then the right colour and proportions - but it's a good case study example for other things.

1480 triangles or so, still needs the dual tankcannon rifle (at first I was thinking about two rifles but I think I'll go for a double-barrelled rifle, still need to draw a concept for it though). It's a heavy tank loli for Lolimod and the first custom concept I'm making for the mod :P. The idea is partially a mecha musume for the C&C3 Mammoth Tank. Will probably fulfill an artillery role because Lolimod needs an arty and because I wanted to get some dancing missiles into Lolimod.

I'm unsure if tank lolis should bleed or explode...
