Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
Are these the same panels in the UI you plastered all over your units?
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
I'm still working on the buttons. I'd like 'em all to have unique textures, and be based on the side you're on, but I dunno if I have the willpower left to do yet-another giant slog. Maybe. Gotta sleep now.
And yeah, they're the same panels. Visual consistency, pure and simple. I can make fancy cutouts and stuff sticking out, like little greebles, but, tbh, when I did some stuff like that and tested it, I just got annoyed that it was taking up valuable screen real-estate. I like minimal UIs that don't interfere with the game, pretty much. I may do a very, very thin border, though, just to make it feel more like a window.
I just haven't gotten around to doing an Overmind off-white one yet, right now they're using that fairly crappy metal texture. Probably tomorrow sometime, if I can stay awake.

Oh comon, all you need to carry over is the same green, not the same repeating pattern.
It might be worth an idea to split this thing up into a left, middle and right side where the translucent window is the middle which stretches while the other parts maintain their original resolution.

It's not happening, at least not until after release. It might be worth an idea to split this thing up into a left, middle and right side where the translucent window is the middle which stretches while the other parts maintain their original resolution.
Sorry to be so blunt, but I have to be realistic about stuff- just doing the graphics for the buttons delays release by another day or two, and I still have minor bugs to find, I'm sure, although I think everything is now pretty close. I'd rather start beta-tests, and get the gameplay tightened up, and squash bugs, than waste a month on a quest for a UI that's a lot tighter than this one.

Where is the build menu!what's not there
Totally awesome... though I fear if I will have to learn how to do all that UI crap myself...

Normally I deliberately avoid betas because I don't have (or at least shouldn't have :p ) the time to really do much after working on BT... but you have so much Lua stuff that I want to "be inspired from" that I'm going to have to beg to be a tester with this one!

Did you try the map with all these effects and a full ofunits fighting and moving? id guess its, unfortunatly, unplayable.

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
A bit of fog would really complete the effect, I think. Regardless, very nice. Love the atmosphere. Are we going to see some weather effect options in World Builder?
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
With standard settings (i.e., no reflective water, user's blob shadows, etc.), that scene runs at over 90 FPS, on my rig. Could run far faster, if I can ever figure out GLSL. Should be perfectly playable, for the average user...Thats probably unplayable.

Looks pretty cool Argh. Maybe you could add some buildings that have less conventional shapes too in the future, like in C&C3, which has some particularly cool and suitably futuristic-looking ones.

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
At scale, they'd clip like mad, because they'd be higher than the camera. And I don't even wanna think about the madness that would be involved, keeping aircraft from flying through them, with the current flight code.wheres the 160 story skyscrapers?
They'd only look cool in screenshots, imo. One of those things, like the Tree Map, that sounds awesome but would almost certainly be too problematic in actual use.
