start a thread with in the forum sub section feature request, and yes would be cool for singleplayer, but nobody (besides argh) made a real campaign for spring (as far as i know)Fri13 wrote:Well, then many RTS games just has not implented it for strategy element for multiplayer games, including the Supreme Commander (what I just got yesterday).Google_Frog wrote: Your arguments for FOW adding strategy in multiplayer have no basis in reality.
It just is a stratetic element what sets player to focus to such areas what are scouted. Bigger the map, bigger the affect is.
It is psychology as well, what terrain you can not see, you do not think it same way as you would see it. Even how familiar the terrain would be.
So, because we are having now the conclusions that engine does not actually need big modifications but it can be done with LUA. The questions in the first pos is answered and results can be moved as a wish.

You underestimate how much time some of us have spent playing on some maps D:Fri13 wrote:It is psychology as well, what terrain you can not see, you do not think it same way as you would see it. Even how familiar the terrain would be.

No, I think I overestimate because I am counting it as thousands of hours... Like you would have started to play same map 20 times every day in last 5 years.luckywaldo7 wrote:You underestimate how much time some of us have spent playing on some maps D:Fri13 wrote:It is psychology as well, what terrain you can not see, you do not think it same way as you would see it. Hehe, out of my 2500 + smurfs ingame hours, Im pretty sure 1.5k + is on DeltaSiegeDry.
Re: Spring / game feature status?
wow, at first i too wondered where LoS went in Spring, i found the L key but it felt off, its different to normal RTS games, which i guess in some respects is quite cool, having different shades for different "sight" radar, real, none.
I agreed with the OP to begin with but i think he strayed to far into "this is right you are wrong".
Yes FoW is removed by map memorization
most of the "you have more tactics since you cant see enemy units" is actually provided by the current system.
but i still think FoW should atleast be a configurable option, the green posters certainly didnt help with their replies of "no, we are right you are either a) a noob or b) stupid"
Black FoW is still fun for the newbies, and hell, if you dont get any newbies in you'll just turn into another bnet/4chan/CS community.
its nice to see the mods can be so helpful with showing someone what they need to do to implement their ideas.
i read up about the whole PURE fiasco recently too, forum certainly has some rather deluded people.
