XTA has no com corpse, and the morphable com/importance of nano healing + com los mean that combomb is the noob's choice. Comparison is pointless, as the com is a fundamentally different unit in XTA.

But then you knew that, what with not being a clueless newbie and all.

What depth? I'm complaining about arbitrary player choices deciding a game with pretty much 0 interaction with their opponents.

The current set up *removes* depth, making com confrontations a no brainer (dgun him for guaranteed impulse launched goodies), and combomb/drop far too easy and rewarding.

Since people play 1v1 with the retarded rules disallowing com drop, I dont see why changing atlas behaviour (even the stupid crap people are suggesting about speed changes with the com) would have a significant impact. Com corpse nerf would have 0 impact on 1v1.

It is a bit of a shame that a game with such a diverse range of units and strategies is being eclipsed by the use of a single unit. Not that I think commdrop/commbomb are inherently bad, it just seems to be so common. Of course, it could be just a fad thats in style atm, I don't play BA team games with enough frequency to tell.

Dgunning every enemy base and napping their commanders which you thereafter use to commbomb the remaining commanders is 0 interaction?

The depth is incredible, with pure skill you can use a single unit to defeat the enemy team consisting of 5+ players if you're good enough, and they bad enough.

Maybe you didn't notice, but no poster in this thread is a 1v1 BA player, except gota.

There are almost none left and this was spring break time.
Can't be any other way since The main mod chooses to not cater to competitive players and remains closed in the hands of one developer.

My bad, i answered the question and did not read the post. So I justify by what i wrote cause I though because of the question, the issue was combombing, cause imo a combomb has much more influence than Dguning a noob base. And why only Noob base get Dgun ? becasue they make no AA (and make only buildpower and stumpy spam) or becasue they dont want to loose their precious commander even if it makes win their team. Best way to prevent this :

one thing about combomb that annoys me is that u cant ever make cluster of stuff which can be fun sometimes :[

modoption to disallow atlas to carry coms seems like a no-brainer to me

- no comnapping/combombing/comdropping
- don't have to use it

some will hate it, some will love it.. let the people decide with their !votes. surely it can't be hard to code?

comlifting comdropping combombing and comnapping are all parts of BA and TA

live with it or play 4v4s/3v3s/2v2s etc where they are less viable

Why not do something like move the aircraft plant from the com. I'm sure Regret will instantly flame this idea but think about it

-it only takes another minute or so to get a air lab at the start
-u get build power with that lab in the form of sum unit
-AA becomes viable to be put up as that extra minute allows you to actually finish a lab before someones in your base dgunning your dudes
-air start is only viable for transing anyway
-prevent noobs starting air
-no 1v1's start air, so this shouldn't be a problem here
-DOES not require complex fix, and shouldn't effect balance in any way

oh and I used to only play 1v1s back in the day, so if you say I can't play your welcome to 1v1 me ^^

There's currently not too much wrong with his statement there. Air starting on anything except superspeed is really a waste of time and (quite literally) energy.

The reason it can't be a mod option is that if it was a mod option then any game where it was turned off it would become a signal to every player to combomb and mess up the game, making the option for 'original BA' unusable.
