1680 x 1050 + 1280 x 1024
So your normal 2960 x 1050/1024 work spread.
Most of my gaming happens on the 1680x1050, but I do surf simultaneously on both and this monitor setup allows me to edit four documents simultaneously.
Which, as a writer, is pretty useful.
Originally I planned to run two 20" 1680x1050 monitors, but I traded my original to Zerg for his 1280x1024 and then bought a used 22" 1680x1050. Now I can play most games without my glasses on.

windows laptop, no more than 1024 x 768
Ubuntu/Linux desktop, no more than 640 x 480 (nvidia drivers, geforce 4) top and bottom bar cut off a bit, can't do full screen, springlobby supports this small size well, but part of the spring settings window is totally inaccessible unless i turn off hardware acceleration and restart my computer.
