Well, whatever. Posted in that thread.

My point still stands regarding the unit in this thread, I think the teamcolour is too saturated.

It is supposed to be, that was the color he used. If he used spring.exe you would see a more muted blue.

Agreed on all points, there is too much teamcolour, which to be honest makes it look a little more flat rather than the 3D bad ass it is.
Well I disagree.

it looks good zoomed out, at the resolution people will play at.

Warlord Zsinj wrote:Yeah, as I've commented in other threads, most people pick full pure colours, I think you ought to design with that in mind, not with the people that pick some lower saturation variant in order to make their units look cool.

I've also commented before that I think giving players a whole colour picker for colour selection wasn't a good idea - they should have a clear palette of ~20 distinct colours, tops. But that's another point.

I think either way my point stands about the team colour being too strong. If someone picks 255 blue, their unit looks like a toy.
IF I WANT TO HAVE HOT PINK UNITS THEN BY GOD I WILL HAVE THEM. Also if you ever try to take away team color selection I will flame you until I am blue in the face and resort to all manners of posting to stop it.

It is fine within your mod and it would be neat as an option for YOUR mod but your view is not the same for everyone.

mod specific team colors request thread, get to it z..
+1 Used to have to play as orange until we got custom colours, now its lime green all the way baby!

There is never too much teamcolour! Not even on KDR's models! MORE TEAMCOLOUR.

Maybe it's just the shots, but your teamcolour hurts my eyes more then in the cavedog shot.

That being said, I'm judging your unit on it's own merits, not vs the cavedog standard. Your units are simply heads and shoulders better then the cavedog ones. That's not to take it away from the cavedog ones, they had the original ideas - but with a talented modeller and texturer using far greater poly counts and advanced texturing techniques, it's just no comparison. So, based on what you've produced, I find that my immersion is broken by the strong teamcolour.

I mean, whatever, it's your choice, you're the designer. I'm just offering my unsolicited opinion :P

Then some of my other units might be washed out. Also, I never stray from the primary colours because of my colourblind issue :P

I'd be interested in seeing this next to the other units to compare the relative teamcolour - I've never really had any issue with the teamcolour strength of any of the other units (actually, I thought they were all a little strong, but not worth mentioning seeing as they looked fine and it was your personal direction).

I can almost guarantee that each of the models will have different saturations and brightness, I didn't even know to start using the glow layer until the Garpike was done.

What can I say tho, its a learning process and I've just been experimenting with different teamcolor saturations and glow levels trying to find the best combination on my own.

By the time I finish with all these CORE models it will be pretty close to being good, but its a slow process :-)

Sure, I was just commenting that I preferred the less saturated team colour that appeared on your other units.

You need to keep your acolytes in check, they're growing vicious ;)

IS there a script to this model that allows it to function like the pillager in BA?
