How is MMB-map-move superior to LMB or RMB-map-move?
Because it allows you to use the minimap for orders. For having that ability, you lose nothing, except it takes some time getting used to.
Which, as I've already said, I use very infrequently if at all.
If you don't use it doesn't make it an inferior option.
1) There isn't an "option" to turn on the intuitive interface, you have to go muck about in the registry, which is a pain.
It probably will be an option sooner or later, the lack of an option at the moment does reflect how few people are unhappy with having to middle click though.
3) You're welcome to cut out the condescending attitude whenever is convenient for you. It's not adding anything to the discussion. Back up your assertions with facts, not a superiority complex.
Ah yes, personal insults have a so much more meaningful place in a discussion. I'm guessing that browser war you seem to want to start is also very relevant to this argument?

If you're designing the game only for the elite gamer, then you'll end up with a very small community. Because if the instructions include "must purchase a new mouse in order to play this game", that wont sit well with the masses.
If you want to get good at this game you need precision of a good mouse, unrelated to the way you move the screen on the minimap.
Felix the Cat wrote:I find the ability to issue orders on the minimap is not worth the interruption in my normal clickflow in order to move the minimap, as the number of time I might do the former per game is around 2, while the latter... around 20+.
Do you use keybinds? If not, you're wasting far more time clicking menus already.

This is an oversight that has already been fixed in the next version, so it is not worth discussing any more.

Could you give me a list of these?
I know things like d-gun and reclaim, but any others would be very nice!

Here are the ones I use. Keybinds are about a lot more than just hotkeys for orders.

Of course! I was having trouble finding your set (which is what I normally use) and so I didn't have keybinds on this particular install (computer dies and has to be reformatted every 3 months, you can set a calendar by it, at least HP is reliably shitty) so thanks for linking them here. I've only played 1 *A game on this install and I was REALLY hurting for lack of keybinds...

Felix if you can find a way to have a separate screen, you should play spring with dual screens. It's way better and you can have a GUI like this.

I forget, does it support two separately sized screens? Also, how the deuce can you pull 72 FPS on two screens? I mean, you're playing with an ugly content pack with few polies, and there isn't much on the screen, but... hurm.

I can't use keybinds, I can't use the keyboard to much effect without running into my carpal which is my only excuse for being worse than Sleksa.

I suggest that newbies who come to the forum for help should be encouraged to join the lobby, even if they wish to play alone.

It does seem to be the attitude around here that if you're not a super l33t computer nerd that has dual-display and uses all the ctrl-alt-rightclick-openthecdromwithyourbigtoe shortcuts to everything then you're just not worthy of playing such a masterpiece. Hopefuly the game designers will simplify the install and learning curve so they can tap into the other 99% of regular gamers that just want to hop online and play a game or two. I have to open a new tab now, so im going to click on file > new tab. Hope im still allowed to play...

Great, so we dont have to tell new players anymore to use MMB on the minimap to navigate. Instead we have to tell them to enable option XY in the settings page ZX 8)

Not really. We just need to make a huge manual with everthing they need to know and tell then to read it whenever they ask anything :)

That is 72 FPS with dynamic waters. :P I have a 8800 GTS. You cannot have separately sized screens, but in Linux, you can configure a special x server for spring only which resizes to screens of the same size, and you can keep your normal desktop with different sizes. It really doesn't matter if the minimap is on the smaller screen, so long as both screens are capable of the same resolution.
