So faction A is the rebels faction right? The second faction you mentioned in the faction outline.
If you give me a little bit more background I could think up some names for that faction. Seeing as they have more high tech than the earth government faction, maybe they could be called the 'Transcendency' and they could be more tech oriented, perhaps with upgradeable units.
I really like the look of where this mod is going, we need a good Atari IP free mod.

Yes, the second faction (rebel faction) I mentioned has become faction A because I am working on it first. You could say it has good tech, but really all of the factions have high tech in some area. Gov faction (faction B) has modularity, any turret can be put on a unit. Faction C flies around, and thats pretty high tech.
So faction A: Legged rebel faction, shiny, red, havent thought of a story line yet... thats ill i can give now but im working on it!

The Praetorian might be a good name for a race. This is what wikipedia say thay are.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praetorian_Guard
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praetorian_Guard
Vanguard it is. Faction A is Vanguard. Praetorian I think would be a better name for Faction B (the governmental faction with big heavy ships and customizable weapon systems/modularity), since I believe the Praetorian Guard was the Roman Emperor's own personal guard and army, and thus the Praetorian Guard was a higher order governmental guard. I think I like both of these names alot, and will keep them for their respective factions. Thanks alot all. Try to bug me so I remember you in some credits.
Okay, so lets talk about the story line. There is a Universal Government (I see a possibility for another name contest here!) that controls the known galaxy. However, there is an undercover resistance movement, the Vanguard, developing due to some issue, which needs to be determined (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NOT ABOUT PUTTING HUMAN INTELLIGENCE IN ROBOTS. THIS IS FROM SUPCOM AND TA AND OTHER GAMES). Suddenly, the resistance unleashed its waiting power, and began to battle the government. The fierce battle successfully displaced the government, but had the unfortunate side effect of obliterating the human race (is this too extreme?). The remainder of the government formed the Praetorian, protectors of the ancient goal of unity and peace. The Vanguard and Praetorian, with limited and war-ravaged resources, developed a system of war in which a single ship can raise and create an army in any environment. (Ok blah blah blah this is essentially the Amored Command Unit idea from SupCom and TA etc, but its not a stupid humanoid thing) Faction C is introduced when either a remnant of the human race still remains, and aims to destroy the robotic war so that they may once again inhabit the galaxy, or its some computer virus, or it is quite simply an alien invasion.

Ok anough of that, another name idea for faction C that I had is "The Argelebs" (It means "Royal Silver" in lord of the rings elvish). You might come acros some (C) problems though.
Quenya: telep
Noldorin quenya: tyelep
Sindarin: celeb or keleb
Quenya being elvish, sindarin being elvish spoken mainly in middle earth and in the LOTR saga. Elvish language is about words roling off the tongue smoothly with no sharp endings or sounds.
argelebs is to brutush and sharp for tolkien to have considered it part of the elvish language, instead it sounds more like a european word from a random forum. More specifically google says the only two results for argelebs elvish are this thread and http://lordoftherings.filefront.com/fil ... ce_3;81458
I agree with the utter nonsense part. Plus, what does elvish have to do with a futuristic world, where everyone speaks mandarin and writes in canadian english?
I have been thinking of a conflict, and perhaps the Vanguard just wanted a different government, that was not as powerful or totalitarian. Universal Civil War.
Well, i wanted to ask the experts if I could make a unit that could be a ground unit, but then quickly deploy its thrusters and fly, as well as vice versa. I have been hearing this stuff about morphing, and that would only work really if I could que a morph command. Can a morph command be qued?
