I think light mines, if included, should just be slapped on a current tank. Keeping the unit count low may do wonders for this work.

Look, it's Argh's cousin, dude seriously, take all the criticism you can get, and don't be a jerk and take it all down, like a certain someone. I like the mod, and hope you actually do finish it, and in that, if you didn't want criticism, don't post in the forums if you don't want criticism.

That sucks, I enjoyed all of the models.
The mod might not even have a chance to become popular without this

indeed it does. but the reaction from the forum egos speaks for itself. i simply cannot help but wonder if i was doing YATAM (Yet Another TA Mod) would the reactions in this thread have been similar?

i have a personality disorder, i cannot help the way i react(ed) and in fact this project is part of my process for dealing with it.

and as for critisism, it can be helpful, but remeber that a) all the screenies im posting are mspaint scaled jpegs b) these are the ALPHA models ffs c) ive stated at least twice in this thread and elsewhere that i know the textures are bad, beating a dead horse on that one.

Saktoths posts are helpful. "ur unitz r repetitive" is not.

and editing the posts would have taken all of 5 minutes, but i was doing it from work so i had to pretend i wasnt.

honestly

repetitive units is life like

i like the fact they were all similar but different enough to tell them apart

in real life a company will not do a totally different design for two things that are similar

The forum medium is notorious for its flamewars. Really, the feedback you have been getting is overwhelmingly positive compared to what you usually get on this (or worse, other) forums. So dont sweat it. If you are going to make anything and put it up for public view, its going to cop flak and you are going to cop flak over it.

A lot of the criticism you get will feel like a personal insult, and a lot of people are pretty blunt- but the majority of them are just trying to be helpful (Even if they think 'that is shit' is helpful feedback- but thats their problem). A few of them are just out there to put you down but they are the minority. As a general rule, ignore anything you find unconstructive and respond only to the constructive criticism.

100x worse, trust me.

pressure line, I was making an anime styled mod for TA! I then ported that to spring and began making it it's own game.. now tell me what part of love does this community feel when someone says ANIME RTS..

they immediately think of whining pilots who do not want to use their massive death machine for anything other then emoing it up and shooting rainbows.

believe me you have not seen the begining of forum people hating on non-ta related content.

they'd have been far worse

deleting all of your posts because of one slightly negative comment is probably not very sensible, considering that was pretty much the only negative comment

"Don't get me wrong but it's kind of repetitive..."
a) deal with it later
b) donut care, fine as it is
c) whine

I was pointing out something obvious as it affects an important aspect of a game. Repetivity can make a game boring in the long run. In my opinion.

If you don't like nay-sayers or critcism in general then please say so.
