Valve are generally supportive of non-profit modders, they like their fanbase.

Mappers for source regularly decompile official Valve maps and remake them with no consequence. Examples:

Edit: he might ask you to use source sdk, although I doubt that could support an RTS, who knows! Also, I now realise I may have mis-read your question in the first place, oops.

Quite a few languages have symbols that mean words... you could borrow the symbol for "journey" or "journeyman" or "path" from Japanese, Egyptian, or Chinese or whatever and combine it with the symbol for war, or whatever...

well, might be that valve is supportiv for its own comunity, and the source connected world- but this here is OS on the fringe, were there is steam, there is money, were there is money, there are lawyers idling around in big offices, waiting for a case to show up... or actively searching for one.

And in addition i actually do not want there comunitys attention for creativity reasons. Imagine the fanboiwhine over everything non-canon, got a taste of that once already- no, we stay silent, hidden, if anyone asks, the familiaritys are only delusions. Hl2 nevar played it!


Now for something completely diffrent! Smoth, your featureplacer is corrupt, and/or the mapper screwed up. I was playin a desert map in the journeywar, when all of the sudden, tropical rainforrest showed up! You got to fix this man, totally ruins the game, man!

Size is a problem. If i dont shrink the tank, he wont fit through the gates of the efence, and it will look ridiculous. but unit feels right sizewise

got to go ramp on the page...

Had a go on the logo after breakfast, will be a stylized Phi (for going in circles) as a gate, with a infinity beyond the gate. Will be orange (boy), to draw attention, and looks crooped atm. removed the circle (crop- oh, those aliens, never got around to grow there own grain for booze, havent they), still need to size up the infinity symbol, maybe even that far, that it is half hidden behind those bars.

Alternative Symbol was a gate made of four crowbars in this shape {} Nice Idea looks bad when seen in reality.

Smoths font works miracles, on screenshots, but he is right on that there is another version needed for Website, documentation, and stuff- looked at those treatments, was not convinced.

Thought about one using combine metall, looking a little bit like the bioshock title. Problem is that everything- to chromy, is looking pimpish, so i got to be carefull there.

PS: Rainforrest looks a little displaced in the snow, i know.
PS2 (Son Ym Dissapoint): Shroudshrike gains the gravity gun as melee weapon. No, no, stop pm me about throwing toiletts. It wont happen. No unit will ever throw toiletts.

Found 4 Bugs today- fixxing it may take a while, and may require brutal force. You will learn to fear those. Will add the crab next. Why not start with a chicken variation for playtesting...

raiders, amprojectors and operas are moving... some bugs too, but they are not animated yet..

Also fuck this shit, im working on the nanoreconissance- and its awesome. They are so beautifull, you wouldnt belive your eyes, piranjas out of metall, havesting victims, swarming hexagonal locusts all over them, and beneath them all, a titanic creater. Ive seen how many polys micronwars uses for its units, fuck this shit- ive been living like a monk for nothing. Im going supersize with this one.

PS: Knorke your Map is not forgotten.

also patience is a virtue. rome wasnt compiled in a day.

This thing- is pretty impressive, and just a small part of it. Basically you have that deer, hobbling over that battlefield, through forrests, always avoiding enemys, till it finds someone lonely. Then this piranya like creatures appear, devouring with a swarm of nanosects the prey. When there is enough rawmaterial collected, the deer trys to get into a big enemy group and/or base (BAMBI ATTACK!) and when it archievs this, the real fun begin. Its basically a recycler nuke, eating a whole chunk, producing a new citadell and some defenses + you get everything eaten as starting goody. Lovely creature.

Almost forgot how nice it is to jam away in a 3d editor
