I disagree with that (naturally) its just because of the gold beeing moar BLING and shiny on the old one. Really, it looks like a half molten goldbrick- and well, its looks like a tool of work, but not like something a advanced civilisation would carry around.. Its--- steampunkish.. which would be a good thing, if the rest of the mod would head in the opposite direction.

If i have this one finnished texturing, can you make a rastafarian version of it, wombat? Just adding drealocks and that hat. Dont you worry about hatemail form envalved fanbois - vortigaunts have a history on substance abuse.

shit looks cool :D now i realised, u could rotate the hands/claws/whatever is it a bit 'outside'. noticed they look bit strange in this position.

Who has seen this Vort? He was last seen in acomplice with the infamous black_Mesa Druggang, which is infamous for its ressonance-casscade-crystal meth, which is responsible for some particular bad trips.

Dont hesitate, if you see this creature, call before its to late. Do not attempt to stop him - hes armed with a arm and dangerous. Vorts can be recognized by there seemingly lack of genitalia (ProXenologist-Tip: That is not a navel, and not only a third arm)

Slow Progress is slow, but steady, and quality insurrance is activated. Now to the last valve trick, when everything is finnished, cut half of the game right out of it, then quality test, kill another quarter- and with the remains, never ever release. Never understand why people are so eager to join a industry, were your masterpiece might never see daylight.

Thx for the cheer ups, wish i had something playable, beyond textadventure with pictures. Gets boring to lurk with envy in the hallway.

Currently redesigning the SentryNell- that Thing just doesent look CombMean enough.

The real joke is - that even if i get a game going - in-lobby- i dont even have started. The real target is single-player after all. Anyone up for a CT or Gundam Game on Wednesday evening?

make MP and not SP.
mp has more replay value, it would basically take forever to make one decent* mission in spring and then players finish it in 20 minutes or so. And how would you go about releaseing new versions? BA players will happily play moar dsd if a new version gives +1% health to flash and zeroK players will explode in joy if the new hotkey crtl+space+mousewheel up=change chat color is added.
But would you replay an SP game just because one texture got pimped up?

*the missions and SP there is right now is technically interessting but for gameplay sucks hard. also takes too long to make.

guess its a little difficult to imagine until you see it in action. Its basically a walking SentryStorage with a AntiAirgun on Top. Once it comes to a halt- it deploys the sentrys , unfolds the shieldwalls and thats the end of the story.

I admit that my stuff is hard to imagine, especially the prextextured stuff.

Before i had that vid of the gatefortress, i could explain away on that thing for hours - and i still only got some MEGA_WATs and people dunnokoforfever.

Anyone else out there of the non-envalved personel who will boycott portal 2? Its basically drained episode 3 of staff, of ressources - and all that just because its cheaper to manufacture the enviroments and characters in that damned apple-lab.

Sure why waste a million on a succesfull game series, if you can have the same success for a a view thousand dollars without the urge to re-invent the wheel? It was fine at the start, but meanwhile that glados vamp has sucked it dry. Could have collapsed the stuff simply into the hl2-universe and forget about portal altogether- instead of that idiotic escaping a "Frozzen-in-the-past-Game-franchise" movement. All that just because Gabe cant stand the stress anymore. Sux.

I dunno what i made those round thingies for- guess its just that i needed to proof to myself, if i wanted to, i could do that generic tanktexture thingie too. Dont find the shieldside that convincing.. Might return to the first version, which was better.

I think that's a really cool idea. I like that model a lot, has a good look to it.

I really like what I've been seeing Picasso. I like it because it's weird, and I don't really understand it, but at the same time, there's like a sensible undertone to the stuff that doesn't push me over the edge I guess. Keep it up man.

Still, reading about the hl2 and hl design process, about the amount of thought that went into every monster, every little thing- and the cuts, i feel sort of to nice to my own work. Maybee i should cut something, just for the yell of it. Its like a haircut, if something is not fun- get rid of it.

Just read the amount of fear and phobia analysis. I need to go over some of the journeyman stuff- every "Raising-The-Bar" read gives one inferior-feelings. If you ought to cut a unit from your mod, one that is useless, gameplaywise, no matter the work that went into it. Which one would that be? Imagine you would hang such a damocleswoard over yourself every second week. Murderous. Productive Destructive. Thats what perfection must be.

EDIT - made something. noticed accidently red panther on hl site and thats what i ended with after 10 min.

RHINOG - heavly armoured, blind with huge nose. dunno how could u possibly animate it with this engine but w/e :D
