Screenshots page needs remaking

Am I the only one who thinks screenshots with a gazilion of units just looks busy, not cool? I always thought a few units, in a cool pose with a good map is better than a thousand units doing a million things simulataniously. Even if the units are doing cool things, there is still way too many things going on for you to notice it all.
So that's why I started making my own screenies.

While part of me wants to say that theres more to spring than just that map, I have to admite I can't understand why there are NO screens of it on the screey page.
I mean, fair play and all, my unreleads shot should come off and his on. Cause I have plenty of shots on there.
Hell, if I went though and took say 20 crisp shots at 1920 x 1200 with everything on max, on a varitiy of maps and mods, would they get up there? Cause I'd do it if I thought that page would be updated.
(I took the XTA load screens so dont doubt my powers...

The only image of Severnaya Industrial I have is this one but it's not suitable for the screenshot page.
Link plz! Like I already said, I'd be very interested to see how you and Fang manage to play out of TA overhead view.smoth wrote:if you watch the gundam gameplay video
in time I am going I am going to do an even better video but this is the video:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... gundam+rts
Any scene where I am looking at this angle is my typical play angle.

I do not have a full version of fraps but when I get one I intend on making you a better video zwz. Sorry it is taking me so long.

It would be a very good video if it wasn't butchered by the low resolution of video.google, however, what I want to know, is how you play in such view. When you have nothing else to do than moving the camera, it's easy to use glamour FPS views, but how do you do when you have to actually gives orders on every corner of the map under the time pressure of a tense RTS game, when you have to keep an eye everywhere and can't afford to lose a second?

I do not lose that much, I actually won that game lathan.
to answer the question.
I will generally swoop over my troops as they are going in for an attack. I place my camera at the entrance to the enemy base and if I need to check my base I just turn and look behind myself. I actually sometimes do bombing commands from right over my base while looking across the map.
I also enjoy looking across my base to monitor the far edge of my seismic.

Forget FPS/rotating... /viewfree wtfbbqs them all... hail the new king of glamour camming.
Using FPS/Rotate when actually playing isn't that bad, with the right setup such as a mouse with a handy button for rotating the view and knowing what all the buttons are etc... biggest problem is that it's easy to get a bit disoriented and hard to keep a good overview.
To make a glamour video, it's obvious that you would use replays... first watch it and find interesting stuff to shoot.. then start over and try to get the camera angles right... might take many tries. This is how that awesome bomber-craching-on-pewee vid was made. Another hot tips is to use AI slaves for video material. Ah yes and you have to add cool music and try to make it follow what's happening (liek peaks in the music try to fit them to something exciting happening). Maybe add in some story-fluff: "and so the EVIL bigstove faces off agains the valiant and heroic jackaloff..."
