hi guys. im probably the youngest guy here, so im kinda lost in all the pc talk, but t.a was the first game i played, and i jolly well hope its the last. anyhoo- i waz wonderin, u can make robots and planes and stuff on some program or wot not, and im wondering what this program is. if any of you can tell me, id like to have a go at making an infantry k-bot or plane. thanks yeah? tara :-)
http://www.wings3d.com/ - they've got a (small) tutorial section. Other tutorials can be found with Google or in the wiki. Das Bruce wrote a simple one about UV mapping and setting it up in upspring (comes later) which can be found here. All the tools needed for Spring can be found on http://fileuniverse.com or http://unknown-files.net
To get started, start off with a cube in wings and then try out every function available. Also activate the advanced menus in the options. Try out every function, yeah, that's probably the simplest way. A lot of functions have more than one mapped on left, right and middle mouse button (status bar tells you what's what) so try them out as well. It may seem difficult at first but it becomes less challenging when you master the basic (and more advanced) functions.

Not cannonfodder but sent out in squads at least. Though a single infantryman can still work as a nice ambush for an expensive enemy unit.

Plans are for using alpha to adjust the shape of the hands and rifle. Too bad textures aren't part of this compo, alpha would change a bit here.
The anime girl is 1011 faces with both weapons included (only one should be visible at a time). Adding the "out of ammo" symbol all GINTA units have puts her over the limit but other mods probably won't use that. Okay, I'll enter her. Link at the usual spot. Contains the objs I used to get her into Upspring, an obj that includes the whole model for the judges'(?) viewing pleasure and the s3o used by GINTA. And the (incomplete) texture.
Wonder how many people know what the text in front of the file link there means?
