Re: New map: Jonathan's pond
not totally sure because that diagram is pretty special, but I think AF is suggesting tree cover could be done by a feature that projects an expansive canopy of leaves but provides minimal amount of trunks/footprint, so units can function under the canopy unhindered for unobtrusive forest maps
Re: New map: Jonathan's pond
Indeed, one could have a very large feature that has trunks on the edges and bush level fauna, then a large expanse of obscurring canopy.
Smoths palm tree cluster doesn't count because every piece of greenery has an associated trunk. It may be one model, on 1 feature, but they're still individual distinct trees.
Smoth, I'm not suggesting the generic concept of clusters. Your models and my suggestion are not the same thing, but they are both clusters, involving the appearance of multiple trees, in a single model. Note the difference in language, a cluster of distinct trees, versus an indeterminate cluster of trees.

That is much better than a sarcastic image.
the problem is not the trunks, it is the canopy..

Re: New map: Jonathan's pond
My picture wasn't sarcastic it was demonstrative, saying it in words would have been far too lengthy. Besides my sarcasm picture involve either myself or stick men with speech bubbles.
As for the canopy, it's doable, don't ask me how though

ok, you have all the wisdom, it is doable but you don't know how.AF wrote: As for the canopy, it's doable, don't ask me how though
There are good reasons why a canopy model won't cut it...
why do I bother none of you will ever make them.
