The only thing that I am disappointed with the trailer, is the lack of eye candy.

no offense to BA but it looks like ass and should be the mod least focused in a trailer video especially with the amount of nice looking mods out in spring and its not like BA needs the publicity.

also id stick to making vids on only nice looking maps (skip dsd it looks dated atm)

anything beherith has made or arturri would fit the bill perfectly ;]

Ah... Forb Classic. I remember when they came out with "New Forb." That was a terrible mistake. Though I'm pretty impressed with the zero-calorie Forb.

Did you ever try Crystal Forb or Wild Cherry Forb? I thought they were on to something, but they just didn't sell very well.

I was actually gonna shop a coke zero label, but in the nick of time decided it was too much work for a simple joke :-)

Heeeey... I had landscapes at start. A list of features that can apply to any mods/games:
  • Transporting units with naval ships
  • All terrain units
  • Mines(Well you've might have missed em at that last battle)
And probably others that I can't remember and don't wanna look for.

Yes I did not show UI features or any gameplay done by hand at all. I used Windows Movie Maker, that is why I rated my first trailer on average while you were overrating! Sereiya shows the difference with vast effects that were done which can't be achieved easily with WMM!

I was thinking of making a video showing that only Spring+Mods+LUA widgets can be greater than Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Reason for not doing was probably of my caring fading away for fast pased RTS games.

Great job Sereiya!

I always really liked your vids, cabbage. To this day I still love the showcase one you did which featured every mod under the sun (Plus the song was jawsome) :-).

On your place I would edit the description of the video ...

you shouldn't arbitrarily say which mod has best gameplay or is most popular, those who decide to download the engine, the maps and mods will find it out on their own. Short summary on features and mod setting is nice. Not to mention such 'judging' is damaging to other mods and damages the community as a whole. Trailer was good, though.

I seriously lol'ed when I read 'BA - most played, best gameplay'. You know what does it say the potential player? Few things:

- all other mods except BA are amateur and waste of time
- community is so small you can't get any other game up but BA most of the time
- engine has only few mods (since you listed only few)
- engine alone doesn't have good graphics, it needs laggy fireworks on a per-mod basis
- it's based on TA (seriously, it's not in your business to advertise that ... I think we have went a long way and Spring still isn't free from OTA)

Other than that you didn't list some mods.

I think it's about time 'some' people understand what it takes to:

- fix the engine flaws and boundaries
- redesign the site
- free from copyrighted content
- advertise widely
- develop a thriving gaming community and not a 'church of the only mod'
- more actively support independent game developers using spring engine

Even with this trailer, we are still going backwards. Old errors all over again ...

Do you people seriously want to play only with AI bots in next few years? That's the faulty direction Spring is aiming for atm.

PS. If you seek to improve the trailer itself, try to equally divide time occupied by land, naval and air fights and show as much combined actions (e.g. hovercraft + sea + air attack on the shore, land assault with support from long range artillery and air, sea supremacy fight with use of submarines, surface boats and air support etc.).

Next, try to include many mods in their arguably best areas - you would want to include naval, land and nukes from NOTA, land, air and experimentals from BA and so on and so forth. Use your creativity to show something that not only looks good but shows huge potential and depth of the game.

Try to avoid BA t1 unit spam over DSD because that's exactly the cancer of the game itself ... and remember to show many different maps - something like - 25% land-based, 25% sea based, 50% land-sea maps.

See what I mean? You can make a 100000 word long post, or just make a vid about a specific project and avoid drama. Just ignore it if these people really cared as much as their posts make them seem to care, they would make their own videos. Spring even has its own built in video capture system. Ur vid is great just keep being a cool person.

Is there a wiki page or anything that lists all commands and features available in replays? I've been looking forward to this for quite a while.

In topic, good video but as others said there are a few lacks such as the map diversity. I'm not against a video showing one unique mod, but here they weren't much fairly distributed.

Well if you are making a video, type /cross. That will remove the crosshairs that many noobs tend to leave in their videos. /mapmarks will make all the map marks disappear, which is also useful.

this trailer is shit hot

my only critique is the writing you use for the subtitles, ie collosal, tactical etc looks amateur, and the nuke at the end would be cooler if it was that really laggy incredible looking one CA had.

I'm going to send this to every gamer I know fo sho
