┬ In my opinion, who hurt who how doesn't matter as much as why the actions occurred and what the consequences of those actions are. When a woman unreasonably provokes a man, knowing that it is against social norm for the male to respond in turn, it may give the woman a little thrill, but it's a horrible thing to do, as it lowers the other genders' perception of their entire gender.
┬ Why? Take into consideration the following train of thought: One must treat females differently as they are delicate and beautiful things. As they are delicate, they should be exempt from hard labor. As they are exempt from hard labor, they should have to do other forms of labor, such as homemaking and cooking. In my opinion, this progression of ideas is backwards in every sense of the word, and by invoking that unwritten social rule, the girl is, in essence, instigating this thought progression, and defeating some of the work that her ancestors have done in achieving equal rights for men and women. Another way to explain it would be that the woman in the aforementioned article, acting in a stupid way, lowers males' perception of females.
┬ In what I would consider an ideal world, men and women would socially treat each other like equals, and as such, this situation would have never happened, because the woman in the video, knowing full well what her actions would have gotten her, would not have thrown her drink at the man, who, in this case, responded with violence. If, even under an ideal social norm, she persisted in her task, then no atrocity was committed, as the woman is clearly too stupid to live.
