Good idea!
I thought I had written it on the previous page, but maybe my post was too long and confuse.

Well if its restricted to the cardinal points, thenwhy not still do my idea, but just using said points? I really dont care how its done, but if it was done it would make me very happy.

Rotatable buildings the way Maelstrom describes them sounds like a good idea to me, and something like that would be nice to have if the problems SJ mentions can be addressed.

IMHO, a compass/direction arrow is unnecessary since a similar effect can be archieved by remembering the last direction used and use that direction as default for the next building. The default direction for the very first building would be to face the center of the map.

Feature request: A compass, visual, that points north. The reaosn i am asking is because it can occasionally get confusing because you can rotate the camera a full 360 degrees and lose track of which way you are pointing. I know that you can tell by the camera boxes on the minimap, but a compass would just be better because you could put it in the main window and such.

Feature Suggestion part II: A secondary arrow within the compass would give the current orientation of buildings that would be built.

I just feel like resurrecting an old thread. :) The feature is done. See the development forum.
