Agorm, I love you!

I'll send you a pm. All the mechs use the same chassis, so setting up the uv's should be a bit less of a pain.

ok this one was pretty frustrating. I unwrapped the bottom of it perfectly, but the top came out in a half moon shape and I dunno how to tell wings that I want everything on a flat horizontal plane.

Regardless, this is my first model ever where I have unwrapped it correctly.

Model by PL, Texture by me

This is to replace the ammobox, it's jsut a small feature that you find all over the map. It gets dropped when something dies. It's size is only 1x1. I have to admit that regardless of how badly I unwrapped the top of it, I'm pretty proud of how well it came out.

Maybe I'm so proud because I quite literally taught myself how to unwrap stuff. I've spent about 5 hours on this thing so far, in a LOT of trial and error.

yeah I know it was, but I wanted to try doing it myself lol

If you want to retex it, that is fine, I'm not married to the one I made by any means.

Speaking of PL, could I perhaps convince you to make a variation of that model that I could use for the terra storage facility (stores both e and m)? I realize that was the intended purpose of this building, but it's shape is so perfect for an ammobox replacement that I really couldn't say no to midknight lol :p

Well I dunno, possibly add some random stuff to it, basically just make it look a lil bit different?

maybe less roundishness, more inset energy panels. A glowey texture (see cremuss's textures) for the energy windows, and a generally more massive appearance?

ohoo hoo those look NICE!

About the energy thingy, don't worry about it, I did it myself, unwrapped it PROPERLY and textured it, screens VERY soon.

Here we go. The insides of the storage are teamcolor, it's 4x4, basically I jsut made some fairly minor edits to pressureline's model and then unwrapped and textured it.

This time I did a really good job. there are 2 seams that I found, but you have to be looking for them pretty closely to spot them.

For scale and reference I put one of the ammobox thingies next to it. As you can see I didn't change it ALL that much, just enough to make it a bit different.

PL, if you would like to do your own version of it to replace what I did, feel free.

Things to note on side color schemes: Stuff for terra should be tannish in color, think desert tan sort of. My storage dealie turned out a little more gold than I intended, but I think it still fits within the confines.

Stuff for explorers Should be in medium grey, however, Kaiser has decided that he wants to do all the explorer stuff himself, so explorers atm are taken care of.

Perhaps too much of the green / no clear logic to it?

Are they meant to be teamcolour panels, or glowing lights?

both?

Doesn't really matter if it makes sense or not tbh, at no point is Evo realistic or even trying to be.

umm all the terra tanks airplanes and buildings need to be done :-)

If you want to do tanks, I would suggest starting with the slicer, who atm looks like this chunk of fail.

After seeing the brilliance of kaiser's arty tank I would like to point out that I think it would be neat if the tanks were somwhat along the same sort of style.

And speaking of modeling tanks, I whipped up this today. It's the terra heavytank (the flamethrower one that has 2 fixed mounted machineguns).

Also, ALL the models which are currently untextured are in this svn location here: http://my-trac.assembla.com/evolutionrt ... 20textured

Remember the color schemes (for anyone who wishes to texture anything there), for terra, desert tanish sort of color, and for explorer a medium grey, however, kaiser has already called dibs on all the explorer units, so you should prolly start with the terrestrialist units.

I like the body of the tank, but do something more interesting with the turret. If it's a flame thrower maby use some sort of a pilot light system? It definitely needs an ammo tank too.

If it's going to be used as something else you can always have 2 versions of the model, but even then, the turret is pretty boring.

It has two tanks, 1 on either side in the rear.

The plan was for the barrel to slide forward during aiming, and the "Lighting" is just a ceg effect that takes place at the same time. If anyone wants to make modifications to it, go ahead. I kinda figured that some people might wanna work on it. If you do, just dump the wings or the obj here and I'll stick it in svn.

Oh, I'm not sure if anyone realizes this, but it doesn't fire a normal flamethrower (the only thing you see is a ceg), and the flame is blue, for example:
