Spring has a much better interface if you fiddle with uikeys, selectkeys and lua.

...stuff...stuff...

My only argument is that we both love TA and we look to recreate that unique experience of playing it.
If you want to play 3d TA on Spring, thats cool [And I really mean that. It's your free time, you can do whatever the hell you want with it]. But you don't get to turn around complain about lack of visual polish. Its one or the other. You can play one of the games that CAN compete with SC:FA graphically, or you can play TA mods.

RELATED! Half-Life was released at about the same time as OTA, and thus it looks like a game from 1997. Valve ported* HL1 to the Source Engine (what HL2 is run on) but it still looks like a game from 1997 (ie: even though its running on the same engine as HL2 it doesnt look anywhere near as good). The thing is, Half-Life is an awesome game, but it looks dated, what you (as a player) have to ask yourself is "Does graphical polish really mean ^that^ much to me?" In the end its up to you, but realistically, you get attracted initially by flashy graphics and sexy videos, but you KEEP PLAYING because of interesting/engaging/enjoyable gameplay.

Just something to think about. If you are playing the *A mods, remember that for the most part they are direct ports of TA models/sounds etc, enjoy them for what they are: a damn good game. If you/your friend are uppity about "omg doesnt look like Crysis!" then perhaps legacy gaming is not your thing...

*this is important, it was more or less a direct port, no real texture or model updates

ps: For the record I play BA (probably more than I should, I have other things i should be doing ^_^)
