Do remember I said that it would show more games than just those two. A design like that without Kernal Panic and Gundam and a few other sexy games just wouldn't work.

Re: Design a Front End for the Spring Website.
EA did it with Battlefield: Heroes... in that Vid... so i think it is what you can hook people up - it kind of lets off what the designers are really thinking -after emphasizing this - what shines thrue isVadi wrote:![]()
Yes, Spring is free, but that's a bit pushing it.
This is really valueable content, a great artisthearts offspring, code&blood - and we hand it out for free. Four crying out loud... Shame on the world..well get it you PIrats, thiefs... buhuhuu

So much for unsaid - messages -
Snipa- you save the evening- contentpicturepercent bitchfight on the Approach - Gundam has two red(orpink) pixels more then PURE - and EE countryside is photoshoped togethers with s44s, way to early... betrayal...and in general scifi-Mods have to bright colours..
I throw a free round of fuel - somebody has matches or thermit?

Snipawolf wrote:Heh, I just GIMPED the news page into a homepage that I would find preferable. (Ignore the spring logo bar at the top, I wasn't about to spend more than 30 minutes on this.)
It should show more games than just S:44 and SW:IW, though ONLY ONE *A game, if ANY, they all look about the same model-wise.
Also, I think it would look better if the New Release area had some bullets and perhaps a few changes from a change log or entered by one of the game devs, instead of that second pic with the tigers.

Here is one of my ideas. A scrolling bar where mods can be advertised if you will, there is an easier way to do it, rather then my disgusting complex html mess, which would most likely involve flash.

Re: Design a Front End for the Spring Website.
Sorry, but no scrolling stuff. Please nonono.
Can we make it so that each time the homepage is loaded/refreshed, it'll pick a different set of mods to advertise?

If there is anything scrolling involved, I will personally hunt down and sodomize the person responsible.

I like the Floralyst concept, although I have a slightly different idea, that I stole from the "webring" concept...
Anyhoo, glad to see some visuals to chew on, I'm finally home, I'm going to get to work...

Lots of pictures = good
Simple, largely unchanged design from what we have currently, but with more pictures = win
Re: Design a Front End for the Spring Website.
I say we steal the Floralyst design style just because the irony is too wonderful.

Re: Design a Front End for the Spring Website.
Hi,
I proposed a new website idea on another post a long time ago. I said I'd do it with real HTML and stuff BUT I wasn't able to do what was in my head (damn, the last serious website I did was back in 2003 with FrontPage
), so I abandoned the project and went back to the shadows.
Now I saw this and had another idea, so I wanted to share it with you:

...
Ok, ok, just a joke... Here's the real thing:

Some points I wanted to talk about:
And that's it. No real HTML or whatever you use now to make websites, just a concept image.
OPINIONS,
I WANTS THEM.

Some points I wanted to talk about:
- The Spring logo is so cool and nice, but it's not friendly with text and leaving it alone is the best thing we can do. Adding text may result in unnecessary noise.
The logo doesn't fit well at all in corners and sides of the website (yes, I tried), putting it there, in the middle of the top bar, makes it shine and look as good as it can.
The commander image is supposed to be an image that changes when the site is refreshed. That space should contain images made of win and epicness.
The menu bar has just some random options, just like the little introduction thingy. Just placeholders.
What do we want to promote? The engine or the games (mods)? Or maybe both? With this design the new user can see what the engine is all about and can check out some cool mods. The images are supposed to link to a mini website with some basic info about the mods.
And that's it. No real HTML or whatever you use now to make websites, just a concept image.
OPINIONS,
I WANTS THEM.

I love it I love it I love it...
6x win and thanks for keeping the colours nice...
Could you break apart this demo into component parts so that one of us web geeks can make it HTMLerific?
edit: by component parts I mean,
Background image
Top header
Main template at the top without any text
Little inbetween bit
Menu left Side, Separators, Menu Right Side
Bottom box background
little image box image without any picture or text
bottom footer thing

Re: Design a Front End for the Spring Website.
