FPS mode help for a Spring lover?

the thing I have to wonder is, what kind of an exploit could be done with FPS mode? I mean, let's face it, when gunships are raiding your base the last thing you're going to think about is taking your com and taking potshots with the d-gun. you're going to get him out of there or just surrender if the swarm's that bad.

Actually back in the days of AA, fps dgun was a very effective way of ridding yourself of gunship swarms.

Personally I wouldn't mind if players could actually do that - it encourages them to actually use the feature in gameplay (obviously if it was totally overpowered I would tweak it). It also makes something like the commander a more interesting unit, gives you the impression of being' your avatar, makes commander snipes more difficult, and offers the opponent the ability to distract the other player by harrying his commander with gunships while launching an attack elsewhere while the guy is FPS'ing.

Of course, that's just my opinion, and as has been said, it should be all mod-definable.

FPS exploits aren't really a problem with FPS mode. They are modder negligence, since they can be prevented :P

CA won't let you fps an antinke silo. With cheats turned on. And I can still make a rocko and shoot it huge distances. Yay random irritating gadgets! \o/

Edit: Actually, I can set up some rockos to do area bombardment at double their range without fps mode. haha

I like fps mode and it is fun to pilot a mech, if the controls were better I would really like it. Either way, the feature is neat and could use some work but I always like the fact that personally controlling a unit could give it amplified performance. After all you have other DISADVANTAGES to piloting a unit.

Yeah, it's nice to get some advantages when fpsing, but it shouldn't be that unit A gets 5% reduced range, unit B gets double range, and unit C won't fire.
