A while ago i rageposted about the difficulties an average player had in accessing the more esoteric (read:none cavedog ip) content available on the engine. Since then, the automated installer, and a few other developements have greatly improved this situation and I feel kinda compelled to congratulate/thank the people who contributed towards this.

Next problem, and subject of (a much lower degree) ragepost is the frontpage/web presence. The way PC Gamer's SWS article, and other outside references, describe Spring is not really relative to what is going on with the engine. It is, however, the impression one would be likely to reach if you simply browsed the web page.

I appreciate there are ongoing efforts to improve this, with AF's and Tim's websites (what is the status of those btw?) and I am acutely aware of my role as player/troll/definitely-not-content-contributer in saying all this, but I thought it might be constructive to make this post and try and transfer some of the momentum that seems to have been built into improving our web presence.

Obviously the UF troubles and issues with content delivery would be priority atm, but meh, just thought I would put this out there.

Then we have names like "Star Wars Spring" and "Spring 1944" with their immense creativity spinning off with the Spring title, which is marginal at best. Oh, and there's "Simbase" "Fibre" and "Evolution", who wants to play some SimCity on a quilt with Darwin?

Just as an average, there are very few mod names in spring that are just like "F***-YA!"
I don't mind playing Simcity.

I don't either. But the title doesn't exactly indicate you're in for an action packed experience.
