As much as you CA fanbois don't want to believe it (woah, we have fanbois already!), CA isn't here to "reclaim" all of the TA player base.

CA aims to bring back thought, strategy and most importantly, fun to our favorite TA-esque setting.

Of course, if CA is good enough, it'll automatically unite all of the AA/BA player base, no? :P.

Either way, what I'm REALLY trying to say here :

Whether you have high hopes for CA or you love it already, please don't pass it off as "TEH ULTIMATE TA MOD EVARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!111"

Some forum publicity is good but I'd rather avoid anything that'd result in massive arguing and clashing.

Thanks.

steal all of CA's effects Caydr..... AA/BA look crap and spring looks crap playing AA/BA (except on lathans maps when you can look at the features alone and go wow)
Silly goose, did you forget I've been working on my OWN remodeling effort? That makes CA's look like crap? :P Haha... well it's nowhere near done... but I think mine will be the long-term solution. Go nuts on graphics and eventually a computer will be invented that can handle it ^^

Are you still planning on adding in an extra race? I think it would be neat to have several races that all played differently. Like one race could start with a factory as it's commander and use a hub system for building, and another race could be completely mobile, sortof like nanoblobs is.

AF wrote:Just to set the record straight, there has yet to be a mod that paves the way. Spring didnt need AA to get to where it is and AA isnt the reason its here either.

This mod has shot itself down with the "march for the motherland to reclaim spring!" crusade, and the issue that caydrs marching down road A, a road which is overcrowded, and is fast loosing appeal with the playerbase.

People didnt flock from BA to play AA 2.3, if anything AA 2.3 confused the playerbase and fragmented the AA base monopoly catastrophically. If CA does not restore that monopoly in a CA-centric modding scene then your AA monopoly will never be recovered in any shape or form.

The AA base mod grab for players is killing off the TA orientated playerbase, and those that're doing anything are either bitter, fragmented, clueless as to the situation, or working on CA. Anyone with any sense is either at CA or keeping well out of it for the moment.

Also the strategy of making a thread announcing the next version but not releasing it and giving few details is not a good strategy. It failed miserably for AA 2.3. It confused people badly before then with previous releases too.

This post really shows you have no idea about what you're talking about. 2.3 was panned because of the horrible failure of 2.23, and the large break in activity from Caydr between 2.23 and 2.3, Where BA had already picked up the ball to make things right again. On top of that 2.3 had some show-stopping bug in it where fighters didn't work.

Coming out when it did, and having the support it did, 2.3 never had a chance to be popular. In fact I think the amount of players (real players) who noticed it coming out was probably negligible.

If AA didn't exist however we'd all be playing XTA, which im sure would not have held mine, and many other player's interests as long as AA did.

Im looking forward to the new AA more than any other project because despite the shakey 2.2+ versions Caydr has delivered more fun versions of his mod than any other mod or game i've played.

Yes, and I'm working on AA. Sort of explains itself, doesn't it.

Anyways, you're implying that I had some kind of development help with AA... Well it's true that Archangel of Death had a hand in a lot of the really cool scripting bits (Catapult for one), he was the only content contributor that I recall. Noize also let me use his Commander scripts that fixed their glitch (whatever it was, I don't remember now), but that happened after I'd already sunk AA.
