I dont think this set is going for such a differentiation, of angular for core and rounder for arm.

you dont really want things to be too angular under water.

Well, I just mean that I think the amphib complex looks a little too bulgy.

Just wanted to chime in for good measure.... I LOVE the new models so far, they look stunning and will be a significant improvement to the mishmash of units BA and some other mods are currently using. I was kinda unsettled by the sea-labs not having any grating, but these last versions look awesome! If you ask me, don't be too scared to make some changes....

To be honest... I dont get the whole Round vs Square related to the ARM vs CORE thing some people are banging on about. I can think of rounder units and more square shaped ones for both factions in the current model set... Looking at the faction logo's I would think CORE would have the Rounder units and ARM the sharper edges...

Anyways keep up the awesome work! BTW.. I am just wondering, what program(s) are you using for the modelling?

Thanks! :D

For these models I'm using 3ds max 2010.

Also, we have some major design overhauls planned for the arm faction.

stuff looks great so far

one thing to keep in mind, as i can see you have already with the factories, is that a lot of the OTA buildings have fairly complicated animations...

please dont skimp on moving parts with simple behaviors... spinning greebles, opening doors and the like... models are already lovely, and it`ll be even more icing on the cake to have some awesome animations mixed in there, especially for stuff like solar panels and other units that by nature are not particularly exciting

You're scaring me I really like Arm design. :(

For the most part at least. There are exceptions but overall Arm design is great imo, and just needs a detail update. But that's just me...

Allow me to rephrase. The unit design will remain the same. The art style, not so much. We really think its for the better.

Anyway, sorry for the delay guys, this experimental gantry is a killer to design.

looks good, id sugest not extending so high that part that goes up when the factory opens, since it has only 2 small nanos on it.

but the rest is great, looks like a nice factory, though i migth say that it looks better for a t2 kbot factory than experimental, but since core/arm t3 are mechs/kbots there isnt a problem.

btw are you making diferent experimental factorys for ARM /CORE

if that is so that one is good for core, bulky looking

Yes one for each. The art style is going to be vastly different for the arm buildings then the style for these.

Here is the advanced kbot lab.

And no, I have no idea why it should pop out like that. D; Its the only think I could think of for the footprint. It will probably make more sense with the texture applied.
