I wonder.
Do people just post their own stuff here and leave or do they actually try what others post?

of course music taste is individual to each person but chartcrap/mainstream rock and songs everybody has heard anyway are boring, why post those? Without any description even.

post more interessting like a guy playing guitar, singing through a telephone attached to his flighthelmet and doing drums too

Also interessting or concert video = more fun even if the sound is messed up (just click related vids) yt's audio quality sucks anyway.
Saw them last year in a small club with no stage in front of ~30 people which is really a shame because THEY FUCKING KILLED.
check them out if you like very groovy sabbath like rock.

oh, rattles electro stuff is sometimes worth a listen if only for the lols and i dont really listen to techno.
smoths jpop/soundtracks are good if you need some OMGWTF moments or to test your gaydar.

I take a look at the songs posted if they appear to be interesting or if I'm just curious because I've never heard of it before. If I end up not liking it, I'll just change it to something else.
Neat. It would be cool to see some different music. Unfortunately, I lot of the music that I like, isn't available on YouTube and I like a good variety of music.

The thread never stated that youtube links were compulsory.

One of my sister's friend's in Japan's boyfriend was in a punk band and my sister wrote some English lyrics for them... I often wonder what happened after my sister came back from teaching English there... I would have no way of knowing if that band became incredibly popular in Japan in the intervening years. Universe is weird but you would think if they ever sold a million records they would have figured out a way to tell my sister about it... so it's likely that long-haired punk is now a salary man and his one-handed girlfriend has kids.

Avenged Sevenfold, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, Mindless Self Indugence, Chumma Chumma.. ponnu oruthi (Indian), Andrew Bird, Apocalyptica, Rammstein, Shiny Toy Guns Major Tom, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, Ozzy Osbourne, Tenacious D, and Jonathan Coulton, along with some classical, new age, and art music are not Japanese or feministic music, and even if I do listen to a lot of Japanese and music sung by women, there's nothing wrong with that. I sometimes wonder if their is something wrong when a when someone is very much against listening to anything other than depressing or stereotypically "guys only" music all the time, though.

Nah, but I don't think that it's to likely that many people would really want to bother looking up things that I just post pictures of or put the song name of up.

yt's audio quality sucks anyway
ordinary FLVs got up to 64 kbps audio on youtube and yes, that is horrible, however...

add
a) &fmt=18 for 128kbps VBR m4a, or better, not a pain in the ears
b) &fmt=22 for HD if available. I suppose it's got a higher bitrate VBR encoded audio stream
to the URL and you're fine. only available to videos after MP4 was introduced to youtube (fall 2007).
techno
I really dislike techno but what's techno anyway, nowadays...

For the record I'm not against listening to any music. (ok maybe against some extremist propaganda music)
