Hopefully Atari doesn't see this sorta stuff... Given that they have a semi current Battlezone game goin on for PSP they may decide to protect their IP.

That said it does look freakin fantasmagorical.

I hope you're not using that script-heavy 'align to ground' script?

All you need to do is use the code that tells you if it's over water or not and use 'set UPRIGHT 0' for over land and 'set UPRIGHT 1' over water

for some reason that didnt work as intended

To paraphrase neddie:

You have absolutely zero understanding of international IP law, do you?

To PL: While this is really neat to see ingame, you've definitely crossed a line here. There's a big difference between creating your own content from scratch that resembles or tries to imitate someone else's IP/content and directly stealing that content. Granted, the majority of spring mods are already doing this to TA, so there's something of a lax attitude about it around here. But really...you were making your own stuff (and improving very rapidly), so why start stealing now?

Yes, but I don't think hes crossing anything because he isn't releasing it for us.

He is modifying spring with content from BZ. And, its surprising enough that they use models one can easily rip. I really don't see a problem unless he releases it...

Almost every major game has tools that allow importing and exporting of their models to major formats to allow modding, if they don't use a major format already. To use a slightly charged metaphor: one cannot blame the bank for a robbery just because the vault was simple to open.

Granted, I don't believe there's any real problem until he releases it. I'm not really sure on that point though.

Finally, I have succumbed to this thread's lust for moar material.

So, here we go again.

Continuing my modding, I finished with t1 of humans. Now I am moving into the aliens, and the lowest tier.

The shubblar. Big, strong, and stupid. Perfect description. They were impressed into the Tauran army and used to fight against humans. It was fight and have a chance of living, or resist and die.

The texture map is 256 out of a 512. I am using this single texture for all T1 Alien infantry and their weapons. So, its only actually 256

540 polies without armaments.

Hahahahaha... why's it in medieval armor? And why does it wear bavarian lederhosen?

The only conclusion I could come up with is that it actually is a bavarian. The skin tone and clothes are mostly correct, so's the face and teeth but the belly has been neglected.

I suggest giving it a beer mug and a fork+sausage and add some slover or other icky stuff to the facial area. 8)

indeed, practically every game i see in the lobby is either BA or XTA, so people can get the heck off their high horses. for future reference ***if you play any mod with TA content and you dont own a legitamate copy of TA you are stealing*** so i'll take my copies of Battlezone and TA that i bought in 2000 and do whatever the frag i feel like with them.

first of all, i just wanted to see if i could. second of all, i pretty well covered this in the UP release thread, im taking time off UP for personal reasons, and this is an excellent time filler while i brainstorm ideas for the final units for the next release. finally, Battlezone has some interesting gameplay concepts, and im interested in seeing how they translate to Spring's environment.

Basically i dont really plan on releasing this as a mod.

**edit** also, that bomber is freakin awesome isnt it?

**edit 2** changes for legal reasons

who said anything about easy? i can churn out a UP unit, fully textured, from scratch in about 2 hours. each one of those BZ models took in excess of 4 hours JUST to texture.
