Constructor

My first 4X game was Starships Unlimited: Divided Galaxies if anyone cares... moving on. Yes it's worth playing.
Is space empires any good
SE2 was fun, most of the newer SE games are terribly boring.

Easy one

Definitely syndicate. Just out of curiosity, can anyone list me any other game company than Bullfrog who made so many games yet all managed to be either awesome or double awesome?

theme, dungeon keeper, populous ( i played ) not much tbh... i would say black isle made better games -
* Fallout (1997)
* Fallout 2 (1998)
* Planescape: Torment (1999)
* Icewind Dale (2000)
* Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter (2001)
* Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter - Trials of the Luremaster (2001)
* Icewind Dale II (2002)
* Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (2004)

Don't forget about Westwood... Dune 2, Kyrandia 1-3, C&C1 and a dozen other (sometimes console) games.

Also Sierra, except that a lot of their games were pleagued by bugs, and Lucas Arts, known for their awesome adventures and Tie Fighter.

I loved the kyrandia series..unfortunately they had some crazy puzzles...like having several potions that you need to combine in some single way to create a potion you need without any clues...
Or a maze that to go through you had to actually paint it on apiece of paper to remember where you cant go.

Well black isle made good games but they only made 2 different types and didn't really try innovate after that (even though the games were very, very good). Fallout 2 and BG2 score very high on my game list.

Apogee while making good games, made some trash too but i guess that is debatable. The same story would to to Looking Glass who had some very complex and very good games but also had quite a few bland games aswell.

But how on earth could i have forgotten westwood...

In any case it seems i wrote the question in a hurry as i meant that most of Bullfrog's games had quite experimental gameplay for their time yet they were still very fun to play. So i guess innovation would be the word i am looking for.

Anyhow, this is derailing the subject which is SCREENSHOTS

i found psygnosis to be a mark of quality in the late 1980s and early 90s (lemmings, shadow of the beast) although now that i look, they had a ton of games that i never played. i think they were bought by sony.

also SSI had some excellent games around the same period; i believe that those guys were eventually amalgamated with ubisoft
