We already have an antispam turret: the Scorcher. If you like flamethrowers, you'll like the new Gollie :-) I'm thinking about a flamethrower upgrade for the Black Dawn, as well.

That only happens if you rotate the building, 'cos you can't get in 100% correct unit space atm (there is an issue with planes too). So it have to wait for the next spring release ;)

Custom formations

Post by kiki »

How exactly does custom formations work? Do I [m] move command and then drag mouse (left button)? If someone could walk me through every minute step, I would appreciate it!! Thanks.

You need LuaUI and the Custom Formations widget enabled.

Here are some of the recent updates:

Image
Machio made us a new series of loadscreens!

Image
CA has a new unit icon set.

Image
CA has many new FX, including ones made by shaders, a CA exclusive, as far as I know.

Image
The Egg is a flame tank that can retreat in a hardened shell. It can't shoot in shell mode.

Image
The Panther is back as a raider that paralyzes and runs past defense, after which it proceeds to level the economic structures.

Image
Units hit by flamethrowers are set on fire and lose health over time.

You can use Spring's built-in custom icons widget to disable CA's icons in favor of less fancy ones.

I like this mod. Kbots not sucking is nice. But...

Realising i'm not the first to say this, having to update every time you want to play is incredibly annoying, and probably quite off putting to all but the hardcore.

Can't you guys just work out a simple system such as "ok next revision we do this, this, this and this" then do it all at once, instead of insignificant revisions hourly.

Whine over :P

The plan is to tweak the updater so it won't distribute every single revision.

I am soo happy the flames worked out! That looks cool! My only critique is that it needs to be a bit whiter at the center

I'm still a Lua particle system nub

Thanks for the effects, Smoth!
Most of the new effects are from Gundam. They look great :-)

would you say that this newer lua based method is more fps efficient?

I don't know. Probably jK can tell us.

But it's certainly a *lot* more powerful and customizable. See the Core fusion (cafus) for an example.

Also, it's toggleable, so you aren't forcing the slow computers to render them.

For something like TD, it would at least need to show something though. My thoughts are that if the burning can be done via lua with less cpu impact I could spend some time tweaking the effect and we could both use it. I don't mind ripping out all that code I typed. I would rather use what is better for the players and since TD is going to be tossed out I would rather not give people the lesser code to use.

Maybe we should continue this in *that place*

fire ftw

Is there a way to put out fire? A fire truck? But seriously can a nanoturret upon repairing get rid of the fire? Does fire pass from one thing to another? Cool panther! Is that arm? (sorry I should check it out ingame)

IMo, it should start as a blue jet at the inner core and the origin, and as it expands go to white.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein flamethrower = total win!
