Only from people that live to bash other people's work and try to pull grandios butt love on their own mod which "they belive" is perfect, and maybe rightly so, because it is your work and you should be proud of it.

AA brings some flavor back to the game, there is nothing wrong with either BA or AA, its all about preference.

TBH after playing AA a bit now, I still prefer it over BA, and not just for the eye candy factor, but because its something new to learn and it feels fresh after playing BA for a month.

Not to mention that we all started on XTA, moved to AA when Caydr started up, and we followed AA till Caydr had a nervous breakdown and then we all played BA.

Nixa had the guts and drive to bring the classic AA feel back to us with a little extra eyecandy and fun on top, and IMO its good to see a little competition as its good for the community.

People have a right to their own opinion btw.

IMO he could @ least think of his own name of the mod, it's using the succesfull name of someone else for your own good. That is what dissappoints me in Nixa. I thought better of him, but i guess i was wrong.....

After sevral mishaps myself i say cut Noize some slack. It's natural to assume it's a guy if it's on the internet, since it's more

I named it AA because I wanted to carry on Caydr's style of gameplay he had in the mod, not just lvl1 spam... It's far more respectful than completely changing his mod when he's still developing it like you did. As far as i know you made BA before he made the 2.3 betas.

In any case, I'm trying to keep with traditional AA gameplay... fun, and Caydr has granted people permission to do it, and it's named outta respect to him and the work he's done.

And yes the number change is random, Just when I wouldve got to the 4's it would look like BA, so I thort best to cut the numbers now and start straight on the 5's so I could miss the 4's while the mod is relatively new.

Or Noize are you just angry I'm trying make a mod to compete with yours 8)

Not @ all, its just that we didn't used Absolute Annihilation as a name, because caydr kinda owns that name IMO. We would have much rather continued under AA, but we asked Caydr and he didn't let us. So we respected that, and now it looks like you took the name without asking, which is kinda disrepectfull. And i don't recall caydr giving premissions on using the AA name, he gave permission to make forks, like we did aswell.\

Don't get me wrong, i actually like more competition, one mod as a dominant mod just isn't good. I just feel it's kinda wrong if you use "his" name.

Well, i went away for 3 months bout the same time as caydr did, and when i came back there was BA, which is far enuff, but caydr hadnt stopped working on AA at that time... so again, if i was him, and still working on my mod, i wouldnt like someone taking the name either. Things are different now (if you check his website) he isn't making the mod, and again, this mod is outta respect to him rather than every1 getting the impression AA has no base beyond lvl1 spam.

If he comes back, I will ask him tho ^^

oh yeah nuke feedback...I think the difference between arm and core's nukes is a bit too much now. core's is really pretty ridiculous, even considering the difference in cost. something tells me you probably knew this at the time you stuck those numbers in and just wanted people to say "remember aa5.0 with the jesus nuke?"

as people have already said the damage they give is a bit finnicky, seems to be biased towards the outside of the explosion radius. the effect for them is also finnicky. seems about half the time it shows up and half it doesn't, and my settings are cranked pretty high. particles specifically are set to max. i wonder if they show up based on what FPS you have at the time they go off. anyway, looks sweet when it does show up, the only thing i'd suggest is to make the final color of smoke particles a dark grey / black instead of the bright white they are currently...give it a dirtier look.

Just make a unique name and everthing will be clear imo,

even AA, nixa's edition or something would work. as long as it is unique to your work.

why is the crater from core's twice the diameter of arm's then?

Well you could ask noize or caydr, coz both orginal AA and BA it is like that. So is BA confusing too?

Anyway, the answer is simple, core nukes take twice as long to load (or roughly) and cost more

you're right though, had to test it for myself and the blast crater for core's nuke is all fuckoff-huge in BA as well. donno how i never noticed how huge it was all this time, i mistakenly thought it was a change by you since the core nuke got ridiculous new effects cloud and the arm nuke didn't.

oh well all these spaem posts will get more ppl to look at ur thread :wink:
