The Plasma deflector works by "pushing" the shot away so he might not be able to keep a shot from hitting you if the shot comes from the right angle with the right speed.
i gatherd that it pushes them away, but i think the whole angle thing should be sorted, because those sheilds arnt working for me as id like, now im doubling up my sheilds so nothing gets in one area

Try putting the shields a little ahead of the area you wanna protect, in a way they are too far away to allow low shots to hit the area and, at the same time, too close to allow high shots to pass over the shield and hit it.
