I uploaded a greenfields replay at http://www.unknown-files.net/replays/?168.
Here I do lab cons, reclaim lab, windmills, solars, advanced solars and win the game with hawk spam. I did start a fusion, but never finished it. Compare to my ally beside me who seemed to go very quickly to advanced solar, and had a tech 2 lab up before me. He did have the benefit of taking the units of a departed ally...

First I would like to say that I'm no longer a "greenfieldser" and I think the map will teach you bad habits, but here was my build que when I stopped playing it seriously...
Kbot lab. Dont build anything before this.
Reclaim tree or two with comm, then guard lab
7 kbot cons, all sent to reclaim trees
Reclaim lab with comm and kbots
Have comm build a few llts, then spam spaced metal makers
Have kbots each spam thier own row of wind, with a few defenders mixed in
Then i adapt from there, however the game goes. I usually tech at about 150-200 winds.
I highly suggest you play other maps though... greenfields will teach you nothing but bad tactics, and all it is is a build order. These days when I play it you can find me having all my allies build 3 wind then assist a vech lab I build. I use the vech lab to spam flash, take out half thier people, then use the fact that we have twice as many comms to end the game with comm bombs/rushes. It rarely fails.

I think its worth playing a couple of games on green_fields for new people, it helps people under eco a little better and the benfits of using e > m thingys.
adv solars have a lower metal cost per E than fusions, which if you have a lot of room to play with, can be useful, sometimes.
Waiting for someone to go against what I said

I think its worth playing a lot of games on real, non-porc maps. It teaches you how to actually play the game well. Including how to manage an economy, micro your units, and outhink your opponent.richw wrote:I think its worth playing a couple of games on green_fields for new people, it helps people under eco a little better and the benfits of using e > m thingys.

Probably speedmental because of the chokepoint and utter lack of resource management needed.1v0ry_k1ng wrote:greenfields VS speedmetal; which is dumber?
