to be honest, i try to close them fast so the game doesn't die (occasionally they popup under the main window and i don't notice them in time) but i'm pretty sure it's the "unknown net msg error" thing, i play in window mode if that helps, don't like fullscreen :)

edit: i should also point out i'm using AA, by the way i didn't mean to sound too negative in my last post. just it seems no one else is having problems and i definately am.

No, you're not the only one, I occasionaly got those pop up from time to time. Reading the same yes. It's freaking when you're playing tensely and suddenly one these error pop-up loudly comes up in the foreground. I've always clicked them soon enough not to experience the crash however. Oh, and I don't play AA so it's not the problem.

It would be especially usefull to hear what the numbers it print in the msg is, just check the infolog.txt after the game if you dont have time to view the msg in game.

I get this popup msg 2-3 times a day:

Wrong packet length got 7 from 0 instead o
f 5

but the game continues if you get them fast .....


edit: yesterday I got this after I built a shipyard...

that last part was SWEET, fixed it by pressing - to set the speed to 0.1, then +ing it up to 1.0, then it was still messed up so i paused and unpaused, worked fine then.

NOTE: these messages DIDN'T pop up the message box, that only happens sometimes, and didn't actually happen in that game.

one other thing, fairly minor, but when there's no sync response it's spelt "resonse" or something like that, just a little cosmetic issue more than anything

I've also had the unit categories error before but the others can't recall.

^ that one is beautiful, won't go away no matter how many times i click it, also had different characters for player name. says the player has joined thing each time i click it, then pops up again. wondering if this could be some tit connecting and fucking up peoples games? i usually kill the client but i didn't this time, does it give the ip before the person joins the battle room?

edit: wondering if you can replace all the MessageBox calls except ones related to render errors with the info->AddLine thing?, i'd much prefer 'spam' to a complete and total lockup

Ok I will replace most of the non gameending msgboxes with logging in the info box (hopefully i have also found out why they happen but im not sure).

As I posted somewhere else, in Spring all units can climb the steepest slope. They are just slowed down. I think it has something to do with letting units go out of deep craters.


I proposed the idea of making units manage to climb only if either the current slope or the initial map slope is inferior to the max slope the unit can handle.

That way:
- Units could climb out of any crater if the terrain was flat before
- Units couldn't climb pristine cliffs
- Units could climb cliffs after they had been lowered by heavy firepower
