Tactics isn't that bad because it's modable. There are some mod projects which focus on adding the missing RPG part back in.

Bah, you still can't replace the turn based aspek of it. It's to action oriented, forcing you to plan in tiny details. You don't have time to start firing at kneecaps. you just shoot to kill... And it's level oriented. No freedom. :/

But it is a good tactical shooter...and I like tactical shooters. And it is turnbased! You can switch between real time and turned based, and I like turned base more because I can actually think about what I'm doing...

FOT is turnbased, you can disable real time combat in the options! Though it's a lot harder turn based from what I've read.

Arr now you made me want to shred 5 super mutants in a row to pieces with a .50 Browning M2 again. That was soooo much fun... almost as much fun as robbing turrets from their energy cells and roundhouse kicking them to death afterwards to conserve ammo.

Anyone done the hidden springfield mission?

Would people hate me if I said Fallout Tactics was my favorite of the series? Tactics>1>2 imo

I always liked taking Fast Shot, and maximising the number of action points I had. Nothing like being able to fire your plasma rifle 4 times one round, then 3 times in the next and reload. Rinse and repeat. I beat the boss of fallout 1 one time by every turn jumping out from behind the pilar, shooting the boss twice, shooting (and killing) a henchman, then ducking back behind the pillar and reloading. In one turn.

Well you can't really compare an action/strategy game with RPG elements to the best RPG in existence now can you.

FOT was nice but way too short and it was lacking the fun of F1/F2. There were no quests at all (the missions don't count) and you couldn't molest the children like that... in fact I think it didn't even have children.

I think I already posted that some months ago but what ever.
