It doesn't need to be anything like the OTA bb, just that nanoblobs could use a superweapon like of that type, IMO.

Dangerous?

(Snipa's eyes glint in the dark)

Hahahaha, this surely screams it, pretty well. Quite a lot of scripting though, not UV'ed either, the gears need to rotate in tandem with the turret, turrets each need archs of 180 degrees or so, and sorry bout how horrid it is (in some places and cases).

Feel free to name it, download and mess around with it (My "goblins" sux...), give it a more building-esque design, whatever ya want. I don't care, it ain't something I'll be using in any mods or nothin'...

The tubes and all are protected by the wall, you can't see em well. Plenty of things to cut and mirror for uv'ing.

PS: The cubey box body sux, but i can't find anyway to remove it without slaughtering the gears design...

edit: Duh! I forgot polies, they are like 1650 or so...

I was thinking of some sort of CATapult like turret chucking catlike objects with dynamite tied to them around the map and a long range porn mag dispenser which works as paralyzer... but I'm busy with other stuff atm :(

Throwing deadly ninja cats would be entirely in keeping with the NanoBlobs experience. Not ;)

I haven't even seen it yet- I'm at Work :P Can nobody make a screenie for me?

@Snipa:

It's ok, but not what I'm looking for. The turret designs are too conventional, and the central spire, which should be the heart of the show, is basically a box with some boxes attached. The gear doesn't look like it actually would do anything, and because of the way it was modeled, players would never see it anyhow.

I KNEW I had seen it somewhere, but now I think of it, yes, it is the grunt turret from Halo. Damn.

And gears in the open make it a very fragile turret.

BTW that golfing machine could shoot little spiked helmets at their foes... 8)

Hm argh, I just noticed yesterday that this eyehound picture on your webspace looks a lot like this one (practicing) model I made for XvM...

I honestly wasnt trying too. Damn, looks like its back to the drawing board. I dont even own a copy of halo and I have made two models that basically copy it, albeit the other one was semi intentional.

I thought the design looked generic rather than a copy when I first made it. *frickity frick frick FRICK*

Hmm. It's not bad, but it lacks mechanical detailing and greebles, and just doesn't have a refined feel to it yet. And it would be a lot more visually interesting if it wasn't completely symmetrical, I think, although a good skin will help. And I'd really dig it if it had rockets or something that were mounted on the bottom of the "turret" and would launch it off the "pad".

In short... good concept material, but not a keeper yet. May be worth improving and reworking. Without a uvmap, I'd rate it a 7.

Here is something I started for the heavy defence turret idea.

I like to keep things simple and smooth, its 674 poly.

Very simple design that I've nicknamed "the tower"
While being a simple design model, the scripting for it will be semi-challenging. I will offer any support I can to aid with answers to how the pieces move.

Probably too low poly and simple, but I love farting around with models so I couldn't resist.

I'll put a more serious effort into the next one.

From now on I'm going to read posts instead of scrolling down pages looking for pretty pictures.
