For me the deltasiege maps work fine!
It is the issue NOiZE. I have proved it over over over over over again. I would rather not argue.

I used to fix maps all the time and upload them under different versions, but a map maker with as much "stature" as icexuick should fix his own maps, which is why I never did it.

Set the sun values to positive numbers and no one will crash on it anymore.
so you can also break a map by giving it negative values?? Did you try that? All deltasiege maps work fine for me!
Yes, you8 can break a map with giving neg sun values. No map has ever crashed for me, ever. That doesn't mean that the maps values won't crash other people out.

Personally I think it's a render/driver issue myself, but it is something about the sun values that triggers it.

The problem is that Ice pre-baked his shadows, right? So we can't just pop open the map archive and change the sun values, because it'll make the shadowing look all funky?

Ya you can, jsut takes a little but of thought process  All you do is choose the closest value that is a positive to the original direction and raise the sun height, and viola`, it is not noticeable.

If someone does actually fix this, could they look at fixing the Risk_v02 map if it's the same problem? I really like that map and it's annoying I can't properly play it atm...

Sorry to bump this thread after so long, but I sent IceXuick a PM about this crashing on DeltaSiege and some of his other maps now that he's back from Mexico, and he says he├óÔé¼Ôäós really busy and that he'll fix it only if he is sure that changing the sun angles is all that's needed to fix all the random crashes. Have you development guys confirmed this is the only bug that's causing crashes? I know Forboding Angel├óÔé¼Ôäós convinced it is, but I never saw all his research demonstrating it, so if you see this could you post that research again?

Okay, after consulting with IceXuick, I've got a few puzzling bits of information to share. The following maps of his are mostly fine: CenterRock v11 and v12, and MoonQ10 and Q20. Centerrock has a negative sun value, and the Moon maps have two negative sun values on the first and third values just like DeltaSiege, but still doesn't crash. The weird "Unknown Feature" error seems to go away when he uses a feature map 1/8th the size of the texture map, but he suggests this is the same thing everyone else is doing so he's not sure why he's having the error but no one else is. Also, this error shows up on all of his maps too, without causing crashes on most of them. Finally, IceXuick reported that it still seemed to crash occasionally when he fixed the sun values and tried it on a friend's PC.

Can anyone make heads or tails of what could be causing these crashes on this specific map? It didn't seem to start crashing randomly until .72, so maybe there's some bug reversion in the Spring code?

I've crashed on deltasiege before, but not once, ever, on Moon. I've probably played enough Moon to say I won't ever crash there.

As I've said a million times. It comes and goes with no rhyme or reason, however, removing negative sun values will fix the map.
