I got nothing useful... There's stuff relevent to web design and stuff relevent to interior design but I couldn't find anything I'd consider useful to spring map designing.AF wrote:google for colour wheel, there's a very simple set of rules and a pretty chart it's extremely easy ocne you know about it.
I beleive I've posted colour wheels in previous genblood mappign threads.....
Now that you've changed the water i have further comments.
Make it much darker.
And it looks like you've changed your metal texture again from the rusty red metal. For that it seems that now the water comments are totally out of place and ti si ifnact the sky that needed changing to a bluer greener colour.
Its just that it looks like your colours dont 'fit together'.

OK, take a metal box with a pattern on it. Leave it in salt water for 5 years or so, so it get's rounded corners like your mountains there. Then show me the pattern. You won't be able too- it'll be rusted away at all but the very center of the flat surfaces. My point is, if you want your map to have rounded corners then you need to do more modification to your OTA texture base. You need to get down there with a brush and some randomization filters and add some nice thick chunks of rust allong all the edges, wherever the heightmap changes.
Or, if you just want to use the OTA texture with the "lightly rusted" overlay you have there, you need to sharpen the corners.
One or the other would be a day and night difference to the map.
